    What would he have done, if the NFL had just stopped playing the Anthem? Just not played it anymore...
    Where/how would he have staged his protest then?

    What I find most abhorrent about the whole circus, is that he was not using his "platform". For those two minutes, the focus was not on football at all. They were two measly minutes set aside to unite people in love and respect.
    For just a couple minutes we were all just people united.

    Why would he need to use those two moments to further his own personal political agenda?

    Of all the moments available to him, on any given Sunday, He chooses to destroy love and respect, to protest hate and disrespect. Ironic.

    There is no one answer to the problems facing black communities. I do know that among those problems, being too lazy do do anything to improve their situation isn't one of them.

    While in the military I dated a sweet, quiet, black girl. She refused to hold my hand in public because she said where she came from, both her and I would be shot if people saw us.

    This was in America. In 1991.

    So, if you think that those who would have shot us dead for holding hands in public were going to allow black people to live the American dream, well, you're just dreaming.

    If you go to any public place you will se plenty of blacks and whites holding hands

    Not every person will be able to achieve what they may like to in life, for a myriad of reasons, not always related to effort, but racism against blacks/ poc, is very unlikely to be high on the list of reasons why, these days. The pendulum has swung toward unfair advantage, if anything.

    Yes, there's a history of it. You even admitted to it.
    You say it stopped in 1990. No, it did not. Maybe some laws were changed, but behavior doesn't change the exact time a law changes.

    Hell, you still think it's all do to skin color. Even though it's proven more white poor people commit violent crimes than poor black people.
