And it isn't by knife, or choking or club . . . it is by gun.

In many local elections back people are the majority and they always seem to vote to disarm themselves. Is this because black people think other black people cannot be trusted with firearms or do they think gun laws will prevent black criminals from owning guns?

The point of my original story about the shooting is not about gun rights, it's about whether or not this officer behaved as Trevor suggested: A man was killed over his skin color because he had a gun. As the story is reported, in this instance, at first glance, Trevor has a point: Men with guns but the wrong skin color are perceived to be more dangerous than other men with guns with the right skin color.

In the second story I posted, a man is killed over a word. In this instance, it was determined that a person of one color can kill another person of different color for using offensive language regarding skin color, as long as he has the right skin color.

In both cases, the wrong skin color got a man killed. I submit, in the land of free, in the 21st century, that that is just bizarre.

You don't judge individuals by their skin color, you judge them by their character. It's been over 50 yrs since "To Kill A Mocking Bird" was published, and Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" was told to a nation of free men, yet we are still living with the nightmarish results of racism, and still dreaming of an ideal that we have the ability to make real, "...life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness..." for each and every individual soul, no matter what.

Clearly "many places" does not mean most places. Wikipedia lists 19 cities that are over 50% black -- per the link below there is a list of counties that are mostly black.

And I don't need a poll to theorize about why blacks support gun control. Statements (for example) by the NAACP claim that gun control will make "communities" safer, ergo many black people believe criminals will follow gun laws.

what was the right thing for this good guy with a gun to do in this situation

when cell phone cases that looked like guns came out, cops basically admitted this put you in danger as they would think it was a gun by mistake

remember, a cop doesn't have to be in real danger, only believe they are in danger in order to kill a person they think has a gun

 

The Republican governor's response was to enthusiastically sign it. Kinda makes her point, doesn't it? Groups of armed black men exercising their God-given constitutional rights = white legislators and governors panicking and taking action to stop it, no matter who else they eff over in the process. I was commenting specifically on the "black people think other black people cannot be trusted". I dunno where that came from. And criminals won't follow gun laws. Than again,... it's not always the criminal that shoots. Could be just a child with no clue playing around, blowing the brains out of some other kid... because them guns are all over the place. Or a child that takes a weapon from his parents over to school.... can't happen if his parents don't have guns.

 

Should we fund a study into whether there's a genetic marker for white men not being able to dance and having tiny peeners? We could use IQ45 as a test subject.
