"Hate speech" is an artificial construct, a catch word coined by the radical left, for use in actions of censorship. It originated with the Eastern Bloc. But then again, what doesn't the New Left believe in that didn't originate from Marxism in some form or another? Light bulbs, maybe? Chomsky is full of it. Note he says "confront" rather than discuss or debate. Confront is a word indicative of active aggression toward someone rather than the establishment of dialogue, so Chomsky is apparently like all other Anarchists like himself, advocating some type of hostile action toward these people. Not surprising really when Chomsky likes to monologue a lot but never debates with the other side. Leftists, when invited to debate by a conservative of any stripe, pull a Cortez-Ocasio and tuck tail and run.
Dialogue can be confrontational and/or aggressive and still just be dialogue. The left has to resort to censorship because they've run out of dialogue. Have you heard a new idea from a leftist lately? All they have is race and socialism, and folks are rapidly losing interest.
As I said, he doesn't dialogue. Leftists in general don't dialogue. They're best at forming mobs, rioting, burning things, and threatening people. The left never had dialogue which is why they've never used it. Outside of propaganda websites that contain poor arguments, logical fallacies, and false premises, they have zero. They also have gender as well as race and socialism.
Dialogue is not useful if your intent is power. The left has an iron grip on American culture, they own the mainstream media, Hollywood, the universities and increasingly public schools. Their tactics look to be unbeatable. All they have to do is get rid of the alt-media (which they are currently dismantling) and they will have complete control of the narrative. I think the culture war between the right and left is pretty much over. The culture war of the future will between the left and the far left. Already there is a big trouble between TERFs and the trans community.
