North Korea presented US with $2 million bill for care of Otto Warmbier

    The North Korean government presented the United States with a bill for $2 million for the hospital care of Otto Warmbier, the American college student who was held as a prisoner by Pyongyang, and insisted the US sign a pledge to pay the bill before releasing him from their custody in 2017, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

    Yun, who had orders from President Donald Trump to bring Warmbier home, signed the bill after informing then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about it. Tillerson then told Trump about the bill, according to the source.

    The Trump administration has not paid this bill.

    FINALLY!! It's taken 2.5 years to finally have Trump have a genuine success story. Kim billed Trump for the return of this poor man, not realizing that Trump doesn't honor his debts.

    He's still slime, but this is the first time in his presidency I'm actually not in complete disgust with him... You'd actually think this is something he'd brag about, but I guess he doesn't want to embarrass his buddy in NK...

    Yay Trump.... Stiffs Kim Jung Un, like a bad waiter at a bad N. Korean restaurant...

    Whattya think? I wonder what Obama would have done here?? Interesting Presidential decision....

    Obama would have sent North Korea pallets of cash and an apology. Trump gives them nothing but a little face time.

    Fred Warmbier on whether Obama administration could have done more for Otto:

    "I think the results speak for themselves. We met everyone in the last administration from John Kerry to... our senators, our congressmen... Those were our efforts. When Otto was first taken, we were advised by the past administration [Obama] to take a low profile while they worked to obtain his release. We did so without result."

    Trump should tell the Norks to pound it, but I do see some particular positive aspects of billing countries for the cost of medically treating their citizens. Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?

    Please. He's done a LOT with North Korea.

    Im glad he got back and we didn't pay them. (seems like something Obama would do)

    But Im even more excited that nukes are on the table and the norks are talking more with south Korea, and just today Russia.

    Oh, and the fact that Korea isn't launching nukes is a good thing.

    Trump has done well with Korea. Better than Clinton, W, AND Obama.

    How many nukes has NK launched at another country in their history?? How many of that number was launched before Trump??

    Finally, how many presidents had to meet with the current NK leader, whomever it was at the time, just to keep that status quo??

    13 US prisoners held in North Korea were released during Obama's two terms. None were paid for, Obama issued no apology.

    Why do you post such nonsense? If you don't know anything whatsoever about politics and aren't arsed to do even the remotest bit of checking why are you here?

    In spite of Obama. Obama did virtually nothing to get them out. Others did.

    Obama did trade an American traitor for 5 terrorists and Obama did send pallets of cash to Iran and to terrorists associated with Al Qaeda.
