I do not like people on either side of this issue using this to promote or demote gun ownership

it would be like calling for a ban on cars ever time we see a criminal use a car in a crime...

in fact this criminal used a car.. he may never of gone there if only we banned cars

Right. Because if he was set on killing that group, he couldn't have done it with something other than a gun.

You do realize that North Carolina and South Carolina are two different states, right?

Obama has won the distinction for seven year in a row as the best gun salesman in America and he's a shoe in for this year and next year.

He also won the best gun salesman in Mexico in 2009 and 2010 by the Mexican drug cartels and Al Qaeda and ISIS awarded Obama with the same award in 2011 and 2012.

Never understood the car/ gun analogy Fresh.

Can you get a driver's license in ANY state without a physical and written test as well as proper registration and insurance for vehicle?

Nope.. but the NRA claims that demanding same of guns would amount to "gun grabbing".

    Help me out here.

    Ok, let's throw a little logic in here;
    1) a guy with a gun killed 9 people who were unarmed
    2) The guy also chose a basically "gun free zone" to carry out his heinous killings
    3) The poster uses a juvenile senerio..one nut gunman vs one armed person. Fine. But, how about 20 armed vs one nut gunman. How do you suppose that would have played out....or better yet...do you really think the nut coward would have ever attempted his mass shooting?
    4) It duplicity to call for more mindless gun control while at the same time claiming cops are the bad guys, don't you think?
    5) this nut, like most criminals, could care less about gun laws. They want to kill someone they're going to do it. And if they want to use a gun to do the deed they'll get it.

Having said that, this NRA clown was way off base using the pastor who was killed to make his point. That's ugly.

GREAT column, and i especially enjoyed the headline.

Guns don’t kill people. Racist pricks with easy access to guns kill people.

Know what's boop-shoot crazy? That people expect this president to make a couple of dozen statements after sick incidents such as this ...

And say absolutely nothing that resembles politicalization (to them) or IOW ... common sense.

Its a completely valid point as there are thousands of documented cases where armed by-standards have intervened in criminal acts.

There's also mountains of evidence showing that places identified 'gun free zones' are specifically targeted by sickos looking to kill as many as they can.

You can only hit this guy with a "too soon" sanction, nothing more.

But even then, why should he not have made his comment when he did?

Every single figure on the left from Obama to Hillary jumped on the "blame guns" train within 24 hours.

Every single one of this boards ultra-liberals jumped on the "its a vast White Christian right wing conspiracy" train within 24 hours.

Why are you getting all uppity because this guy gave his $0.02 right along side of you and your overlords?

Are you saying your freedom of speech worth more than his?

"might" is NOT a statement of fact.........................why don't you blame the person who made the gun? The person who invented guns? The people who died , but never ever use logic and blame the shooter...

Typical conservative/Repub "logic",, blame everyone else but the one responsible...use the tragedy to promote guns...

Yes, and what ELSE did his friends, social media AND cops say about his statements about race wars and killing black people?

But if none of those folks had been carrying a gun at church then it being a gun-free zone means absolutely nothing. Being allowed to carry in no way means those folks would have been armed. You don't even know if those folks owned guns or had ccw permits. For all you know they could have owned guns but felt taking them to church was inappropriate. And even if they'd been armed, you still don't know that they would have been able to stop him. There are so many unknowns here that are so completely obvious that the only way you can say what you've said is because you want to use this incident to further your political views. I sure hope you're not one of those folks who attack the left for politicizing things because that's exactly what you're doing here.

Know what? This "gun free zone" crap is becoming monotonous.

Got something beyond an NRA talking point that claims more guns = less death?

    Seriously

Post them after a tragedy like this?

Making a comment of arming teachers is not the same as blaming this pastor for his own death, but I'm sure to you it is

Absolutely agree, and that is the problem, with 6000 + gun laws, there is no safety in keeping anyone with so much as a violent misdemeanor from getting a gun. I think if so much as have a citation for violence in public or domestic dispute, you should never be allowed to own a gun. My point would keep most professional sports players from owning one, which I'm quite OK with

IMO, these parents should go to jail and anyone connected in letting him has a gun

His comments are every bit as bad. Hours after this tragedy he politicizes it, just as the ass from the NRA. They are equal POS

And your point is? I posted it as it is relevant to your topic. Never denied his racist statements nor his statements about a "civil war".

So why dont you try again.. Instead of constantly trying to get that quotable moment you can snip how about honestly debate people?

I don't know? What did they say about the Beltway killers and their racial agenda or did you forget about that one?
