NY Gov. Cuomo blocks federal judges from officiating weddings because some were appointed by Trump

    The legislation,that was
    "noncontroversial" and "bipartisan," was passed 148 to 2 in the New York Assembly, and 61 to 1 in the Senate. It would have simply opened the door for all federal judges to officiate weddings. Currently, all state judges have the authority to proceed over marriage unions, but only certain federal judges may do so.

    Cuomo said he couldn't bear to risk that a Trump-appointed judge might oversee a wedding, so he shut down the legislation with his veto power.

    This is taking partisanship way too far. Even the heavily Democrat leaning NY State Legislature passed this bill nearly unanimously.

    Democrat State Senator Liz Krueger, who sponsored the bill said the following, "Four years ago, we gave the governor the ability to perform marriages. Two years ago, we gave legislators the ability. So when it was suggested to me that we expand it to federal judges, I thought, 'Why not? The more the merrier!'"

    "I'm certainly no fan of the judges this president is choosing to appoint,but since any New Yorker can become a minister online for $25 and legally perform weddings, I didn't consider this to be a major issue."

    What the hell? Throw that baby out with the bath water.

    Seems a little silly to me.... even the universally regarded dimbulbs Trump is polluting our federal court system with can handle this simple duty...

    If the support is still there, I suppose this veto will be overridden.

    But his point is made...

    I like this move by Cuomo!

    Why?

    Because its stupid and partisan enough to recruit voters away from the Democratic party, sometimes its silly stuff like this that provides confirmation for fence sitters to say "enough of these clowns"

    So basically, great job Mayor!

    This is an incredibly petty move by Cuomo. Not only is he hatefully discriminating against judges, he's giving Trump ammo to point out how petty and hateful the left can be. Now the totally unbiased and politically neutral Fredo can defend this on his show.

    Darn good thing the left isn't in power in NY then....

    If he does nothing else except get Trump to leave his state for good, Cuomo will be remembered as America's Governor...

    You can't reason with Democrats. That's the take away from just about every argument. I for one am done trying.
    They care the bad guys Republicans are the better guys. Real conservatives, if there are any are thr good guys.

    In the left were not in power in NYC and a few heavily populated counties in CA, Trump would have won the popular vote by 1.5 million or more.
