In the 18th century, Muslim slavers moved into the interior of Kenya for the purpose of exploiting blood rivalries between local tribes. Muslims encouraged warring tribes, Obama Jr's Luo ancestors included, to capture "prisoners of war" and sell them into slavery. Kenya tribe leaders, also exported slaves and ivory that had been exchanged by Africans from the interior for salt, cloth, beads, and metal goods. The slaves were then marched to the coast and shipped to Muslim Zanzibar (an island South of Kenya), to be traded again. African slaves and ivory became hugely profitable and Zanzibar Muslims grew rich on the trade. Slave trading continued despite the public outrage in Europe demanding an end to all slave trade. The British, eventually brought their forceful anti-slavery message directly to the Muslim Sultan. After years of pressure, the Sultan finally relented and agreed to ban slavery in 1847. Did you know that Obama is descended from the first Black slave in America? Obama's 11th Great-Grandfather was John Punch a Black man who was enslaved during the 1600s who escaped from Maryland and was sentenced in Virginia to life as a slave making him the first man of African descent to be officially enslaved for life in America. Punch married a White woman and his descendants are part of the bloodline of Obama's mother which has been confirmed by DNA analysis. This information was uncovered by genealogists at Ancestry.com so it is as credible as you can get. My two cents. Who cares? It doesn't matter if Obama had slave ancestors or was descended from slaves traders. Being descended from slaves does not define a Black person in America. There is no such thing as authentic Blackness. This is a racist ruse invented by White Supremacists and conservatives who want to discount Obama as the first African-American President. Voting to elect the first African-American President was for many people the most exciting moment in their lives and will go down as one of the most noteworthy elections in American history. Obama is part of Black history whether racists want to acknowledge it or not. In reality White Supremacists don't care if Obama is biracial or his father is Kenyan with no connection to American slavery or his ancestors in Kenya are slave traders. They don't care. All they want to do is deny him his place in history and reject him as someone that African-Americans can be proud of to be racist. Obama being the son of a Kenyan immigrant with a White mother hasn't helped him avoid anti-Black racism so why should that matter when it comes to the accomplishment of being the first African-American President? Why would Black Americans deny him for being biracial when biracial and multiracial people with Black ancestry had to sit at the back of the bus with all of the other "Coloreds" and experienced racism throughout America history to this very day? You're Black when you have any detectable African ancestry (One Drop Rule) but when you're doing something positive you're not authentically Black? Only in the minds of racists. Obama is not even President any more and you racists can't let it go. You make up all kinds of lies about him and tried to discredit him at every turn throughout his Presidency. Will now Obama is relaxing on vacation, he is still popular with the American people and we have one of the worst and most corrupt Presidents in office right now. Many Americans are already wishing Obama was still President after dealing with Trump who hasn't even been President one year. If Trump resigns or is impeached before his first term ends I wouldn't be surprised and his supporters only have themselves to blame. Meanwhile Obama will go down in history as one of the best ever and Americans can only hope to elect another Democrat nearly as good as him.
