That's what people who need flood insurance think. But they are always too late.
A lot of Repub Governors fought like dogs to deprive poor people access to Medicaid. Where have you been?

Give up cable.
Don't be offended when I don't take you're word as fact.
Well, the Tea Party Republicans are going about shutting Obamacare down the wrong way. They are doing it by threatening to shut down the government. Obamacare is the law. If anyone wants to shut it down they need to go through the process of having it repealed. If they fail to have it repealed then they fail to shut it down.
The Americans don't have access to affordable health care because MessiahCare is tripling their premiums where it isn't getting their policies cancelled altogether or where they're not being forced into part-time positions becuase nobody can afford "affordable care".
Just because some fascist propagandists label a bill "affordable" to get the Stupids to suck it up doesn't mean it's affordable.
The DemocRATs relied on the stupidity of the ignorant college brat to get them into office, and while it would be nice to believe they're relying on the stupidity of the college brat that voted for fascist and rascist Obama to pay the premiums MessiahCare needs to make the fascist plan work as advertised....but the RATs NEVER implement a program to do what it's advertised to do.
Because even though the college idiots were stupid enough to vote for fascist and racist Obama, and they are stupid enough to defend it, they're not stupid enough to pay thousands of dollars they don't have in premiums for insurance they don't need when they can:
a) buy "insurance" they day they need it, thanks to some fascists plan of rejecting the insurance companies prohibition against insuring "pre-existing conditions", and,
b) The TAX for not being covered is only 95 dollars. College students that voted for fascist and racist Obama are certainly the stupidest people on the planet (except for the adults that voted for fascist and racist Obama), but they're smart enough to save the difference between "thousands of dollars" and a 95 dollar "tax".
So, MessiahCare is going to do, not what it was advertised to do, which it couldn't do anyway, it was implemented with the goal of killing the private health insurance industry completely as a precursor step towards full-blown AIDS....er nationalised socialised lack-of-medical-care.
If MessiahCare was the law, it would be consistent with the Originations Clause.
I haven't had an issue yet with my insurance provider, then again, I don't need others to provide something to me that I can do for myself.
The fact that ObamaCare is Obama's "landmark legislation" has nothing to do with it for conservatives.
It's a bad law that will hurt millions of innocent people who did the right thing and provided health insurance for themselves without any help from Obama and the welfare state.
Harry Reid calls Republicans terrorists but ObamaCare is the greatest act of terrorism since the Twin Towers fell on 9/11.
Actually, the dems are threatening to shut down the government. They will not negotiate and will not pass the bill funding the government. Don't worry, spending will continue. When has this administration cared for the law or the constitution?
Can you explain how it isn't consistent with the Origination Clause?
I understand the Republicans are trying to get the message out that the shut down of the government is to be blamed on the Democrats because the Democrats won't go along with the demands of the Republicans. The truth is that the Republicans are the ones refusing to vote on raising the credit limit until the Democrats agree to either delay the implementation of Obamacare or defund it all together. Raising the debt ceiling is a separate issue from Obamacare which means the Republicans are taking the raising of the credit limit hostage until the Democrats meet their demands.
As it should be, there hasn't been a government or an economy in world history that could be ran without fiscal prudence or awareness, our government will not be the first. The majority of our bills deals with pork, things we don't need, foreign aid, etc, etc. The fat cats in Government on both aisles fed on it, as did special interests such as the elderly, medicaid and medicare, etc.
So, no, maybe not today. But 5, 10 years from now presuming we continue on a spending path? Who knows? Who wants to know? Do we really want to become the United States of Greece?
Now's the time to make the harsh decisions that might have us struggle for 5 years, but be prosperous for 1 million years.
Obama and Reid are the people in the oil filter commercial where the mechanic is telling them "You can pay me now or you can pay me later."
Meaning buy the oil filter from him now or a new engine later.
But in this case Obama and Reid will be gone and it is the children and grandchildren who will have to pay the bill.
Now is not the time for the government to stop spending money. Look back at histories lessons. Reagan spent us out of a recession. When we are in recovery, cutting government jobs is stupid. Our government also got us out of the great depression by creating more government jobs. When people have jobs they spend more money which boosts the economy. The time to cut government spending is during boom times. Timing is everything.
Not sure where you get your information. As a card-carrying member of the Republican party, I haven't heard anyone call for Reps to cave to save a shut down, conservatives or moderates.
I think what you believe is wishful thinking. Reps are more united than they've been in a long time.
Look at it this way... when Obamacare goes into effect, implementation promises to be a nightmare... and Dems will own that nightmare 100%.
They'll be lucky to hold onto the senate in 2014.
Actually, Democrats are willing to negotiate on Obamacare. For instance, there are a bunch of technical fixes they'd like to make -- including one that would make clear that church insurance plans meet the law's standards. Such glitches (and their fixes) are standard procedure in any large, complex piece of legislation, since you never get everything perfect the first time through.
Republicans refuse to allow any such fixes, period, because they want the law to fail, period, and they don't care who gets hurt in the meantime.
In the same vein, they refuse to provide additional funds for implementing the exchanges, because they want the exchanges to function poorly, so that the public will not like them.
That's called "sabotage".
LOL, actually, govt workers are kinda hoping for a shutdown. Last time we had one (1995)... they were off 3 wks... and got paid for it after everything was over.
Nice deal to get paid for not working... only in the govt is your employer broke one day, but rolling in dough the next.
You are going to be terribly disappointed when you wake up in the morning. Boehner & the GOP are full of (*)(*)(*)(*). They are NOT going to shut down the Government. They know it's political suicide. Obama knows this, Reid knows this. EVERYONE knows this except those that want this to happen.
American's life expectancy is 33 in the world yet we pay twice the amount of the next country per capita and as a percentage of GDP.
Prior to Obamacare, $60 billion in medical bills went unpaid for by their uninsured recipients. Who do you think has to pay for that? The only reason why Obamacare catches so much flak is that a.) Liberals are so "smart" they can't explain simple facts like the ones above and b.) because now the right has the ability to quantify who pays what amount of that 60 billion.
I also think that the reason why Obama was elected in 2012 was because the Republican primaries cause candidates to take such political damage that they don't have anything left in the tank when it comes to the general election. Not specifically because they approve of Obamacare.
Okay, they gotta do the Indian war bonnets. Should be today, but time constraints and all, but these Republicans need to let the sheepish majority in the Senate realize what the poor, starving Tea Party minority is voting for dinner. It's not majority rules, it's a feast.
It's gonna end badly for this thing called conservatism ... probably like the neo-nazis in Breaking Bads' grand finale ...
Won't matter to Republican voters. Our reps have put up a good fight for we, the people.... for a change. Which means it won't hurt them half as much as the implementation of this HC fiasco is going to hurt the Dems. Its a win-win for Republicans.
It seems the "American People" blame the Rethuglicans rather than the President. Their years of obstructionism coming back to bite them.
