Here you go, this is what’s coming down. A former federal prosecutor.

If you're at all interpreting my posts as me defending the abuses of power within the Intelligence Community, then you are completely misinterpreting my point. My point is that governments have a tendency to abuse their powers, which is why it is of the utmost importance that we set limitations to the powers granted to the federal government. The FISA program allows for legal loopholes for the IC to spy on American citizens without a warrant. It is intended for foreigners, but American citizens can be added to the database by making contact with foreign individuals. Once you're in the database the IC can spy on you without issuing a warrant

All opponents are calling for is for the IC to first issue a warrant before spying on US citizens who are in the database.

The issue are 702 queries that require a criminal investigation to initiate. The FISA warrants comes after that to get the texts and phone calls. That is what was abused.

How old are you, like 18? Do you remember what Watergate was about? It was a break in into DNC HQ by 5 rogue men to attain information. The biggest sin was Nixon's administration covering it up.
What we have today is the NSA and FBI spying on the opposition party in power, using tainted evidence and attempting to discredit a duly elected President. It will only differ from Watergate if Obama can't be tied back to it. What makes it exponentially worse than Watergate is using the USA intelligence community to do it. THINK ABOUT THAT.

There is actually quite a lot here if one chooses to leave the leftist echo chamber.

Let's play the usual game I play with liberals/progressives/socialists:

    Let's say...

During the 1996 presidential election President George H. Bush orders his FBI and Department of Justice to begin spying on Bill Clinton, as Clinton is suddenly becoming popular in the polls. As part of his campaign research on Clinton, Bush had obtained information that Clinton had raped and abused women. While not a popular president, Bush had the support of the national media, which had a conservative tilt and always backed Republican candidates.

FBI agents begin wiretapping Clinton associates after obtaining court orders under the pretense Clinton, while at Oxford, had possibly met with foreign agents. This was bogus information, of course, but Bush was a corrupt president and had already:

-Used his IRS to target political opponents

-Invoked executive privilege to prevent his attorney general from testifying before a congressional committee

Bush officials begin leaking information about a "FBI investigation" about Clinton's abuse of women to the media, which, loyal to Bush, dutifully relays this to the American people. Stories about Clinton's abuses, based on anonymous sources and parroted throughout the conservative media, appear on the front pages of the nation's newspapers, day after day.

In fact, it becomes the conventional wisdom throughout the country that "something" must have been going on with Clinton.

But shock; Clinton wins the presidency, and a Democratic-controlled congress begins to investigate how the Bush administration tried to sway the election by weaponizing his FBI and DOJ. Lower level FBI agents and attorneys in the Department of Justice begin to testify as whistleblowers about what transpired under the Bush administration...

Alas, the media is still loyal to Bush and virtually ignores this issue, instead still talking about how deviant Clinton is and continuing to publish stories about the FBI investigation against Clinton.

Now, as a leftist, wouldn't you be just a bit wee curious about what occurred? This, of course, is just fiction, but if the roles were reversed liberals/progressives/socialists would be apocalyptical about the possibility of a corrupt Republican administration weaponizing their intelligence services in order to sway a political election.

As would, more than likely, Republicans, as they showed in forcing Nixon to resign.

Liberals? They put their head in the sand, call everyone a racist and rally around Team Blue in their quest for power...

I've discovered leftists often have no sense of history, as they rarely venture out of their echo chamber to seek truth.

Are you aware of what is occurring with the Intelligence Committee investigation?

    Any clue?

Or do you simply dismiss everything that might leak out of the liberal/progressive/socialist echo chamber if it doesn't conform to the narrative you've become comfortable with?

There is compelling evidence the Obama administration weaponized the Department of Justice and FBI in exonerating Hillary and building a "case" against Trump. We'll see if it plays out.

In the meantime, step back and contemplate what it means if this was true. When Nixon's corruption was discovered, both sides did their best to remove him from office, as a presidential administration spying on their opposition and attempting to illegally sway a presidential election is third world country stuff.

This should scare most liberals; alas, when it comes to Team Blue most of you will continue to believe and follow propaganda as it is set out for you...

Nope. But a few of his administration officials just might end up with prison sentences and there is strong possibly, at least among normal Americans, that Obama will be remembered as running the most corrupt administration is U.S. history...

There is no evidence, except in your mind, that the Obama administration tried to " weaponize" the DOJ or FBI.

To add to all the crooked dealing of the Obama admin, it has been revealed that the FBI has "lost" thousands of e-mails. How quaint. This is just another proof the top leadership of the FBI was crooked as hell.

Time to drop the "_______gate." Probably half of people have no clue what that even means and Watergate has no relevancy whatsoever when that is used.

No emails are ever "lost." The CIA/NSA has every email ever sent for at least the last 15 years.

Also, the correct terminology is not "lost." It is "federal felony criminal destruction of government records."

But, then, the FBI can commit any and as many crimes against anyone or everyone as they want to, can't they? That was FBI Director Mueller's and his stepchild Jim Comey's operational practice: that criminal laws and statutes do not apply to them or the FBI.

Of course there isn't, at least in the world you inhabit.

Read a book or two. Educate yourself. Take a walk outside and look around. Expand your horizons a bit.

There is plenty out compelling evidence out there for those who wish to seek it. Soon, in all probability, it will even show up in the leftwing echo chamber you inhabit, if for nothing else to dispute it.

So, has Clinton or Obama been indicted yet?

    No?

Of course, this time is nothing like the those previous hundreds of times where Clinton or Obama was going to be indicted. Really is it. This time, it happens for sure! Trust the people making those claims. Their record of failing hundreds of times with such predictions shouldn't be held against them.

We'll revisit this thread later, when nothing has happened. And those making the claims will explain it away by swearing how the lack of any evidence for their conspiracy obviously proves the conspiracy is being covered up.
