I guess we can get it started early. Astros FIRED their GM and Manager for Sign Stealing: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28476780/astros-jeff-luhnow-aj-hinch-fired-sign-stealing
I don't know. But, last week in Vegas at The Westgate they had a prop about whether they could lose 120.
I was devastated. However, I wouldn't want to pay mookie 400 mil for a max contract next year. I love him, but not that much. I can kinda see the desire to make that trade. However, it's a BOLD move. We'll see how it plays out in the long run. As of right now we might as well just give LA Dodgers and the Yankees a key to the World Series for this year
I wonder who is ahead in the Sox Manager Sweepstakes? The strongest candidates appear to be a pair of internal options. Bench coach Ron Roenicke and third base coach Carlos Febles have both formerly interviewed for the vacant managerial position, per MassLive’s Chris Cotillo.
This certainly is an odd shakeup. I've literally been out of commission sports/news wise most of the last 2 months. I logged on here once a week or two ago but other than that I've been in training. Is there anything that led to the Sox making this deal? Any rumors? Are they selling high because they think the two have peaked? To be honest, I don't even consider this a high sell. I'm struggling to see the upside here unless it's long term. In which case I need to do more research

I don't follow baseball too much anymore. I go to Angel's games here and there. My former Office Manager's son is Aaron Hicks (Yankees Outfield). He has a cannon for an arm. Fastest recorded throw from the Outfield (105 mph)
I'm a complete baseball newb - the first time I ever watched a game that I finally got a bit of a clue about the sport was the Stros vs the Royals in the playoffs back in 05 or 06 I reckon it was. Super tight play between the pitcher and batter that game - really the essence of the game followed by field play and run play. Anyway, I am apparently doomed to have first my Louisville Cardinals and now my Houston Astros mired in feces. One of the things that I read was that AJ was pissed off about the scheme and trashed a monitor they had installed in the dugout twice. Twice. They installed a dugout screen showing the signs and AJ twice smashed them. Jim Crane of course knew nothing about any of this because he's such a hands off kinda self made billionaire....
Yeah. I think that AJ, as a WS Winning Mgr., will eventually get another chance after he serves his suspension. Obviously, they can't strip (or "vacate") the 2017 Title. So, I guess it is what it is.

Kershaw choked again. Dodgers trail NLCS 3-1. TB had 3-0 Lead, but lost last 2 games to Houston. ALCS sits at 3-2.
Definitely some epic baseball going on. What a comeback for the Stros! I'd love to see the Astros play the Dodgers, with the game held in the Thunderdome. Rays against the Braves would be a nice change of pace though, wouldn't mind that.
Nice job by the Rays to put a cap on Houston's valiant comeback. Reckon I'm pulling for the Braves now, tomorrow....
