Yet another Governor has complied with the DHS order to deem the firearm industry as critical infrastructure. This leaves many more less Democrat states who are still not in compliance, but will forced to get in line with the DHS order. Oklahoma Governor Issues Statewide Order – Firearm Industry Deemed “Critical Infrastructure” Governor J. Kevin Stitt has issued a statewide order to enhance social distancing to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Businesses and services that are not considered “critical infrastructure” are to be closed. Consistent with NSSF®’s request however, the Governor’s order detailing the state’s “critical infrastructure” contains an explicit reference to all services listed in the Department of Homeland Security’s CISA guidance on essential workers. This now includes “workers supporting the operation of firearm or ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, and shooting ranges.” This language was incorporated in the recently updated CISA guidance at the request of NSSF.
So, if gun makers and distributors are smart, they'll reroute all of their inventory to those states who have functioning retail markets. No sense sending any guns to Washington State or Washington, D.C. or others with no possibility of delivering those guns into the hands of customers.
