Wrong again on two counts. Firstly the thread is not about the probability of young and healthy people dying, it's about an unvaccinated person dying. Secondly the discussion you jumped into was the likelihood of knowing three or more people dying from Covid.

If you read the entire thread and still think posting a story of two elderly people dying is relevant then you probably should make an appointment with your doctor.

LOL you are really struggling here. The OP us about an unvaccinated person dying. It even says so in the second sentence, you know,where it's written "Because he refused to get the shot.". Nothing to do with the topic of healthy or young people. Try and keep up. You jumped in one sub-topic to claim that Bigfella was lying about knowing of some under 40 dying then you jump into another sub-,,topic about the likelihood of knowing 3 or more people dying from Covid. You really should be embarrassed of yourself being wrong so often

I'm not talking about searches and seizures. I'm talking about what YOU wrote (and agreeing with it, BTW). When you are alone, or in your house, you have a right to not wear a mask. When you are in public you have NO right to infect others with a potentially lethal disease.

Easy as that. Your personal rights end where the personal rights of others begin.

 

And we are so fortunate to have so many experts to tell us where that point is and which side has the right of way.

 

Who knows where the "point" is. But wherever it is, you clearly are infringing on other people's rights when you put them in peril by behaving irresponsibly. Not what you would call a "gray area".

You have a funny way of "agreeing". The 4A doesn't just apply in you house.

But there has to be a real, concrete infringement the other's right. IF briefly encountering an unvaccinated person guaranteed infection, you'd have a point. BUT, we're told that somewhere near 97% of new cases are people who are not vaccinated. There are an estimated 80 unvaccinated people out there and yet new cases yesterday amounted to 25,000; assuming each new case was caused by contact with a unique non-vaxxer that would imply 0.03% of NVs caused the entire gain. BUT, assuming the vaccines are effective that would imply that most new cases were NV on NV encounters.

How is it not clear that infecting others with a deadly virus as a result of not taking the most basic precautions is an infringement on their rights?

 

Choosing not to get the vaccine doesn't mean that someone transmitted the virus to anyone. Truth is even if we have had the jab we can still spread the disease. But you know that.

 

What is your proposed remedy for being negligent in this manner?
How can the harmed party prove it?

 

If you act responsibly, take reasonable precautions (like getting the vaccine), you have behaved like an adult. But people who don't behave like adults should be treated like children.

 

The harmed party is we the people. When an irresponsible person doesn't take the necessary precautions, they are infecting others, which extends the length of the pandemic which, besides increasing loss of life, harms everybody financially, psychologically, existentially, .... That's why regulations need to be set in place. And they are appropriate because there is no such thing as a right to put the life of others in peril.

 

Have you ever seen a multi-car pile-up on the highway or the news? The first car to get hit will look to the driver of the 2nd vehicle who will look to the driver of the 3rd vehicle, etc. on down the line until they all get to the last driver.

Therefore, we, the people, can look to <the other part of, we, the people> but that 2nd vehicle is going to keep moving down the line until we get to the last driver. Guess who that is suspected to be?
