That should tell you how serious it is to ammend the constitution.. it should be extremely difficult so we can avoid tyranny.

 

While that's theoretically possible, it's also statistically unlikely.

The Democrats could have easily won the election, but they chose to avoid trade/immigration issues, haughtily ignored the suffering in the Rust Belt region, and chose a terrible terrible candidate, thinking there was no way they could lose.

If we got rid of the Electoral College, the coastal areas could ignore the suffering and issues of other regions again.

The 11th amendment prevented people from suing states that they did not live in.

12th amendment changed the nonsense of the EC so that you would not tie.

At the time the least populated state was only 10 times smaller than the most populated state. Today Wyoming is 80 time smaller than California. LA county alone would be in the top 10 states for population.

Wyoming has a population of 577,000. California a population of 39,557,045. That's 70 times, not 80 times.

That just tells me that California should be several states.
