Why would a school care about how well their sports team does? Sport is just a sidebar (like drama club) it's not as though it's important or central to the purpose of schools. As long as the kids are having fun while engaging in it (sport or drama), who cares.

since we're talking about PUBLIC selective high schools, you may want to go back and start again from the beginning.

Rich people bribed people to alter testscores or put them on some athletic scholarship while not playing that sport, etc. Wake up. And your idea of poor people watching tv or drinking beer. You still can be poor working 80 hours a week in the US.

merit based entry IS equality. it's the only absolutely fair system there is.

But that preparedness does not come from the schools! It can only come from the home. Even the worst schools still produce a few high achievers .. and those kids excel regardless of how 'bad' the school is.

We're talking about PUBLIC schools. They cannot be 'bribed', and they do not offer scholarships. TRY AGAIN.

I said nothing about the poor drinking beer and watching tv. I merely mentioned parents who prefer to watch tv or drink beer, than help their kids study for entry exams. Asian parents almost always choose the latter, regardless of how rich or poor they might be.

Such programs fail because the school doesn't decide how well the students do. That 'assistance' funding should go into educating parents .. or perhaps even penalising parents (for failure to ensure their kids graduate with a high enough mark to gain entry to tertiary vocational training). That might actually make a difference.

What's amazing to me is that these public selective schools were initially founded SPECIFICALLY to help the gifted poor, who might not otherwise have access to suitable education. IOW, it was a very 'Left wing' idea.

Shows you how horribly twisted the Left has become.

Cheating is done, stealthily, to exclude higher scoring Blacks, whenever Racism's school-Admin wants to use their prestigious school to uplift White Asians.

A high test score, was not the only factor used for admitting brilliant, White Asian students. So please don't move the goalpost for Black students.

From the first day it opened its doors, yes making exceptions back then too, is what morphed it into a prestigious school. Which means you are now being unfair by trying to dictate the exceptions here.

I was chatting today with "DP" who came here from China. He is excellent at explaining Chinese to me. And he knows our history very well. He went to one of the eastern universities and worked back there at first. Now he is in business in CA and markets products from China.

He came here legally. And I believe he had a student Visa. HE loves it here. Thus he became a citizen. He did not vote for Trump but he supports republican principles.

    This is the owner.

He said DP is the initials for his Chinese name. A great guy to chat with.

Oh, okay. Is that why I constantly bring up "realities" which you failed to acct for in your analyses?

The Chinese are a very interesting people - we can learn a lot from them. We can also learn what to avoid (not all in that culture is worth adopting). Either way, it behoves us to like 'em, because we'll be them in the not too distant future. Could be far .. far worse.

I have the experience of a black Surgeon. I tell you now, as far as I am concerned, he ranks up with the best heart Surgeons.

But he is not one who got in for being black. The brilliant man earned his way in.

    Study him.

I get it. You turned 21. I recall when I was 21 and thought I, as you think, knew it all. All 21 year old males at some point believe they know it all.

But here you are among people who know 5 times more.

I see a spunky 21 year old who believes the Chinese are white. A strange young guy for sure.

I agree we can learn from the Chinese.

Read the Shaker Heights study and get back to me.........IQ is largely a product of DNA........every IQ test ever done confirms this.

LOL You really don't understand the facts do you? Now you're claiming the school has bumped out the higher scoring black students to get even MORE Asians? Do you even believe what you're writing?

And if a high IQ and hard work equals free points -- I guess Asians do get "dem" free points. For [expletive] sake dude. Being a boat person and succeeding is due to IQ and work, no matter how you libs spin things.

Alumni contribute big bucks because of sports. Like most questions your "why" is answered by "money."

Computer scored tests are racist. And if tests aren't racist, some computers are racists.

No science has confirmed it. All those studies do is measure brains, then look at IQs. There is ZERO EVIDENCE of any link between the two. The African Grey parrot is literally all you need to consider, to understand why this is bad science.

There's one here who thinks black skinned South Indians are white, also. Apparently something to do with hair texture. And even though Nigerians and Ethiopians have the 'wrong' hair texture - both groups outperform African Americans massively when it comes to academics.

When you NEED racism in your life, you can flex anything to make it fit.

I work/ed amongst even darker skinned and wrong-hair-textured African surgeons and specialists. And Jews. And Arabs. And Pakistanis. ALL make excellent doctors. Not sure why, but they really are superb. Something about those cultures which lends itself to the healing arts. And of course, most are highly articulate and excellent communicators, so that helps enormously. Listening and interpreting is a very important skill in medicine.

You need to break your post down dude. Someone states IQ is a function of DNA and you start talking about brain size????
