    Good point.

I guess I didn’t know illegals owned a lot of property, either.

    Thus, he must agree:
The claim of Trump not paying taxes is so factually incorrect that it isn't even funny.

You should read the expose the NYT did on Trump during the summer. Lots of evidence of defrauding the government of millions in taxes.

"The president has long sold himself as a self-made billionaire, but a Times investigation found that he received at least $413 million in today’s dollars from his father’s real estate empire, much of it through tax dodges in the 1990s."

OK. If you want opinions that he cheated on his taxes to be the issue then that's fine. The reason he didn't want his tax returns made public is that they would provide fodder for people like you to attack him. Tax returns are too easily interpreted by amateurs. They should never be made public for anyone.

Trump also didn't suffer a catastrophic midterm election, like The Obama did.
    63 house seats lost?
    6 senate seats lost?
    Ouch.

Ah, I could smell the deflection to illegal immigrants already before writing this post. Too predictable.

It is interesting to note that the ones hating illegal immigrants for supposedly not paying taxes don't have a problem with Trump not paying any. Of course, the almost 12 million illegal immigrants in the US pay an estimated $13.6 billion in federal taxes, according to the IRS, that would mean for years 2016 and 2017, illegal immigrants, on average, paid more taxes per year than Trump. How is that for America first? Maybe he should start at his own doorstep before attacking others.

For immigrants in total, they paid on average about $9,000 in federal taxes per year. Seems like they love this country a lot more than Trump, who can't seem to bring himself to do anything for this country that doesn't benefit himself.

It’s factually incorrect for any individual to claim anyone doesn’t pay taxes. We all pay some type of tax throughout our adult life.

Yeh, it’s funny one group represented in this thread think they are paying bunch of property tax. Even if you figure they are paying property tax through rentals you have to figure there are 3 families in a property sending 12 kids to school and using 3 times the other public resources a one family renter would consume. Any way you look at it, it’s net loss of revenue.

So addressing the subject is 'look over there'?

The title of the thread was really bad wording on the OP's part. They left themselves wide open for the commentary - those who don't pay taxes, such as the low income group who get EIC and various other credits, who receive back more than they paid in, sometimes exceeding even the amount the paid in sales tax, are according to the OP 'dead beats'. Trump has paid Sales taxes and state taxes.

The OP is who you should be picking on.

I've owed $0 more years than I have had to pay, and some years I have even gotten as much as 2-3 thousand back over what I paid in due to credits. I can tell you there is not much pride in being poor, but I worked hard to better myself and I was not a deadbeat. I always appreciated my fellow tax payers for the hand up. Now I get to pay my taxes like a good little citizen.

Dont you think you are over exaggerating on the pay no taxes bit?

Do you not realize that multi millionaires do not typically draw much if any of a paycheck, and thus do not pay "Federal Income Taxes"? Their income would typically come in the form of capital gains, and even then only if they decide to cash in those gains in that given year. Their personal income most CERTAINLY is NOT reflected in a W-2 statement, and thus is not subject specifically to the form of taxation known as Federal Income Tax.

Even if we assume that the NYT reporting is 100% accurate, you can rest assured that they purposefully left other forms of taxation out of the equation, which is the entire reason that Trump refuses to release his actual tax returns. It is obvious that the intellectually dishonest media/Dems are going to exploit the public's ignorance on such subjects in order to paint a false picture. Truth be known though, only Trump haters care. It is a non issue to everyone else.
