<<< MOD EDIT: INSULT REMOVED >>>

Traditionally in war the penalty for loss of a war was loss of land and loss of freedom because the loser's people were sold into slavery.

Haven't you read The Trojan Women by Euripides?

    I have swallowed nothing.
The war between israel and palestine has been started by the palestinians and the first war is actually the start to the long-standing conflict, therfore, the palestinians can only complain about themselves...Israel has officially accepted all the resolutions in the agreement, palestine has ruled out all the content.

Palestinians didn't divide the land or declare Israeli independence, so blaming them for the acts of others is not logical.

My understanding in this matter is quite lacking but in a lot of cases (after doing some research) a lot of the settlement land occupied by Israel was bought from the original land owners for money. The Jews own the land legally.

That does not include the land "inherited" from the Brittish at the establishment of the state of Israel.(the original borders)

Now...if the land was bought legally, Israel has the right to settle on it.
So why not establish the land of Israel with the borders defined as land legally owned by the citizens of Israel? The rest of the disputed land would be Palestine.

And why does Jerusalem have to be the capital of Palestine. This just seems like a ploy to keep any hope of peace unobtainable.

And as far as "wiping Israel off the face of the earth"...preposterous.

Some was purchased by private individuals from absentee landlords. It's amazing how much the price drops when you shove a shotgun in the owner's ear.

The two are unconnected. Resolution 181, passed at the dissolution of the British Mandate, didn't create Israel. The Resolution passed the motion for the possibility of two States. Israel declared itself a State, unilaterally, in 1948- one year later.

Don't be absurd. You can't buy a property in Russia and declare it to be American.

Resolution 181- the very same Resolution you believe created Israel- declared Jerusalem to be International Territory. Israeli occupation of Jerusalem is not recognized under international law. Israel ' law' there has been declared void. There are no embassies in Jerusalem as the entire world views it as being illegally occupied..........and you think that the Palestinians are responsible for the absence of peace

Zionism, on the other hand, is a lost cause.

I can not buy land in Russia and claim it as U.S. territory but I do have the right to settle on it....it would be my land.

But the U.S. has bought land from Russia and made it part of the U.S.

    Alaska.

Alaska was an agreement between governments. Anybody buying land in Palestine would be expected to live on it whilst respecting Palestine's laws. Your suggestion that the land becomes ' Israeli' is clearly wild and woolly.

When did I say Palestinians are responsible for the absence of peace? I would like to see the quote.

And how do you put a shotgun in someones ear when they are absent?

If Jerusalem is..in fact...international territory...then it could not be the capital of Palestine could it.

In other words you do not want an end to the conflict?

There is no Palestine...so how could anyone obey the laws of a country that does not exist?

    Here you are;
I don't see any hope of a debate with anybody who can't remember what they said.

Being trite now ? You put the shotgun to their ear first. Then they are absent.

Not until a United Nations majority accepts it, no, but the Palestinians can claim Jerusalem as their capital unilaterally- just as the Israelis claimed Statehood.

The nation of Palestine is recognized and accepted by the vast majority of the global population and most nations. Why Hamas, Likud and America continue to reject the nation of Palestine, is puzzling. Such doesn't make any sense.

This post has not one but two incredibly irrelevant comments vis-a-vis Israel. The first is that you would NOT automatically have the right to settle on the land in Russia - you would have to have an appropriate visa, work permit or whatever. Otherwise the only thing you would need to immigrate to the USA would be to by some run-down abandoned farmhouse somewhere.

And as I am sure PoliticalCenter is aware, the nation of the USA bought Alaska from the nation of Russia. That's quite a bit different from a government forcing a transaction with a private individual, or a private individual bargaining with another desperate for money due to distress from a collapsed business due to Israeli restrictions and Palestinian unrest.

The route to peace is through existing international law. The Zionists ignore international law. How you can even attempt to put Palestinians and their oppressors in the same bag is astounding.

No they don't. Israel has the right to expand in expanded borders as compensation for being victimized during the last war.

It's only recognized by Muzzie countries and Muzzie lovers. Free Democratic countries don't recognize them at all.

Palestinians ignored international law in 1948 and 1967 what is their punishment for doing so? I say loss of land.

At the time of the declaration of the State of Israel, Jews owned just over 6% of the land in Palestine..and around 10% in the area allocated to them at Partition.

After Partition, land bought illegally by Jews outside the Partition borders were incorporated into and added to the Jewish area, despite the division....and by the time the state was declared, they had driven a large proportion of non-Jews out of their homes and off their lands.

After the declaration of the State there was a series of laws which declared that the land of any refugee was land owned by an "absentee landlord" and was now the property of the State, and was not reclaimable.

    Please define legality.

See my response to the first part of your post.

And I add that Israel is still working on the premise that what they can grab is theirs, regardless of International Law.

And it is kinda worrying, as to the prospect of the continuance of the world past my lifetime if we allow the USA and their symbiotic parasite, Israel, to allow their irrational paranoia to dictate how the rest of us deal with our neighbours.

Some Palestinian supporters want Jerusalem....just as do nearly all Zionists. The pragmatic could live with Jerusalem being divided with East Jerusalem being the capital of Palestine, the West the capital of Israel. And the rest of us would be OK with that as long as everything concerning religious sites had UN overview and were not under the sole control of factions.

But, although the Palestinians now talk about East Jerusalem being the capital of Palestine.........the Zionists are still going the Jerusalem is Israel's capital, will never be divided, and will remain the capital of the State of Israel, the capital of the Jewish people, for ever and ever. route.

So which of them is the main problem?

Even ignoring the continuing settlement expansion/building on Palestinian Land by Israel, the Jerusalem issue appears to be a deal breaker for the Israelis....or at least the Israeli Government.

Care to link me to any site which is not Zionist which interprets Ahmadinejad's speech as saying anything which could equate to "wiping Israel off the face of the earth" ?

Not holding my breath, btw......because I don't think you will find anything.

Show me where it was illegal for Jews to buy land from others. I didn't see a point of reading your post past this first lie.

Those who implemented the Palestinian mandate on behalf of the UN decided before WWI that only 5% of the land of Palestine could legally be transferred to Jews.

I could link you......but why should I? If you google it, you will find it..maybe on wikipedia.....but you can find the same stuff on UK Government sites.

Given that I very rarely post anywhere about anything without researching first.......what makes you think you get a free pass to be spoon-fed by others?

If they have the cash nothing is illegal about them buying from people willing to sell.

Then, Palestine has the right to expand its borders due to all of the innocent civilians murdered by Israel. Your argument is bigoted and doesn't hold any water.

Which "law" did they "ignore"? The protocols of the Elders?

You need facts to back your claims, not Semite hostility.

The only innocents Israel killed was collateral damage or shields of militant terrorists Hamas thus acceptable.

You can't expect to be able to shoot at somebody and not expect them to shoot back simply because your hiding behind a civilian.

    So you would be wrong.
