Since there was literally no crime in the offing here, why would you find this "understandable" and support it? Should law enforcement get to pull you into a room and hot box you for any imagined "violation" of the code of the day they feel like enforcing?

They 'questioned' a teenager at a shooting range, who was engaging in activity off-school grounds that is protected by the second amendment. We are not North Korea. If they contacted the parents first and questioned THEM, that would be a far better response. At least then the kid isn't being essentially targeted for his actions.

I'm not necessarily a big gun proponent, but I am a big 'rights' proponent and I'm going to fight for those rights in America. More importantly, the right to privacy being invaded by 'Hitler Hogg' and by the fanatics supporting it.

someone reported him obviously, they have to question him, if they did not, then if later he was a school shooter, people would say why did you not question him

yes, if you walk into a court room and someone says they saw you with a gun, they may check you out... same with a airport, ect... so why not a school

So you're advocating seizure absent probable cause? And just for the bonus question, why would you expect that someone going to a shooting range then also carry at the school?

The difference between schools and say the airport is that everyone at the airport is treated the same. The standard you're advancing seems arbitrary. Why should I allow my civil rights to be arbitrarily suspended at the whim of a school official?

not sure exactly when...likely soon after the commies establish UHC... but there will come a day when their jackbooted moral busybodies interrogate children about the pictures of unhealthy meals and desserts their abusive parents have posted on Facebook.

Some people have opinioned that the Constitution is outdated. It might not be outdated on its principles, but it definitely needs adjustments. While the Framers didn't want to create an 'establishment of religion', in de-facto saying everyone can practice freely they created an establishment of ALL religions. It's just not State-Sanctioned.

Now, in our secular union this has worked out pretty well. The separation of Church-and-State has allowed for private worship, while the public is generally secular. Where we find the challenge is that Islam is not secular. At all.

And attempts for 'modern reformation' have fallen on deaf ears. The fact of the matter is, Islam is incompatible with the West.(Hence the need for Halal meat for example.) And the West is incompatible with Islam. It's not the fault of the Islamics or Westerners. It's oil and water. Just a fact of our existence.

But since we cannot "ban" Muslims(and I have nothing against them as a whole, though I do have a healthy fear of radical, 'home grown' jihadists.). I think the moment in our evolutionary thinking will be the realization of our utter incompatibility and Islamics would move out of Western Civilizations on their own.

The fall of the Ottoman Empire was a curse upon the West/Europe.

No more then some branches of Christianity or other major religions in the world.

See how the protestants treated the catholic in merry England for a few generations as one example of many.

Nor did the founders of the US agree with you.

The bad guys are in charge.

Have been, for a number of years. There is no rule of law. Sad reality.

are you saying if some middle eastern guy is sitting next to you on a plane, and someone says he saw him with a bomb, that is not enough for probable cause to investigate?

see something, say something.. then give the police the power to investigate what was said to have been seen

we saw what happened with that last school shooter when they did not investigate

that fact that some child mentioned it to the school, means the school should check it out, especially with so many school shootings going on, doesn't hurt to check the situation out, they talk to the kid, determined harmless and not a risk, no problems

So because the school, the FBI and the Coward County cops ****ed up, that's a reason to harass someone else who did nothing wrong?

    Why are you attacking children?

Why are you supporting children being attacked by law enforcement?

Where in the Constitution does it say we have to allow anyone into the country that wants in?

According to liberal logic, this kid should get guns, ammo and accessories from arms manufacturers, MIT should offer him a scholarship and Trump should invite him to the White House and be treated like Clock Boy was.

Like it or not, a teenager posting about guns on social media is going to get you noticed. And, in this case got him a little one on one with his local LEO. That is the world that we now live in. He wasn't arrested, detained, or stripped of his rights. He was questioned about his intent, and that intent was benign. End of story.

In a word, yes. I'd rather that than them not even look in to the situation. I'm sorry, but you can't have it both ways. We can admit that LEO dropped the ball at Parkland, which was your excuse for the shooting to begin with. "If only LEO would have done their job!" you cried. Well, this is LEO doing their job.
