Actually, we didn't just become temporarily untrustworthy. Unless Trump guts the intelligence community and the State department, cleaning as much deep-state as possible, and unless those remaining actually start doing their job of implementing the policies of the duly, constitutionally, elected president, we will be no more trustworthy than we are now.

What the Trump presidency has exposed is that there is a deep state in both State and intelligence, that believe they are greater than the President and they will destroy any elected President who they don't like. That was there before Trump - many have reported on it all the way back to Reagan - and it will exist after Trump, unless Trump spends his second term carrying out his promise to get rid of the deep state.

What is childish is actually thinking the Senate will remove a sitting President from office for committing no actual names crimes. They refused to remove Clinton for perjuring himself in front of a Federal Grand Jury and encouraging a potential witness to do the same, both felonies by the way. So exactly what statutes has violated? Please cite the statute and how he violated them.

Then just what would you call people like Lt. Colonol Vindman who stated that he was "deeply troubled" by the elected president trying to "subvert US foreign policy"? The GAO did say Trump violated a law - that's their opinion. I'd be interested in seeing your cry for impeachment when they said that Obama broke the law. But it's moot. Trump was not charged by the House with violating any laws.
