No, I quote from the Bible, too. But, you are spamming giant collections of stuff that doesn't form an argument to the point.

    Religion isn't about word count.
I don't believe you even slightly did that.
But, Jesus CLEARLY stated that those going away into eternal punishment included HIS FOLLOWERS who failed to fulfill the requirements Jesus CLEARLY laid out.

    Here's your problem:
YOU CAN NOT TAKE ONE VERSE AND IGNORE THE REST.

Your mistake here is that you ignored the differentiation that Jesus made concerning who is righteous and who is NOT.

No you don't want to face the truth. I'm being logical whereas you are being illogical. You believe that nothing caused existence as we see it because of your atheistic world view. I believe Our Creator Almighty God caused all existence as we see it. Let's not forget the scientifically logical true statement in that "from nothing, nothing comes".

You take the view of science that you don't know, yet you as an atheist take the view that God doesn't exist and so you are contradicting yourself. On one hand you're saying I don't know what caused the initiation of this universe but on the other hand you're saying but I know it wasn't God who caused the initiation of this universe.

Do you see how inconsistent you are?...how you contradict yourself as an atheist? You're more of an agnostic but you aren't realizing/knowing that...lol

Well at least you're saying the universe had a cause which is a good start for you. Back in the day before Einstein's theory of relativity discovery, he and many other scientists held the belief that the universe was eternal and so that took God out of the picture for them but all that changed after Einstein's theory of relativity discovery, the first thing Albert muttered out of his mouth was, "I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details."

He became a changed man, a deeply religious man after that, he composed songs to honor God and sang it to himself as he was being chauffeured by Peter. Below is Peter's quote.

“Peter Bucky—the son of one of his few intimate friends, grew up knowing Einstein and often chauffeured him—writes that Einstein ‘composed a number of songs to honor God, which I heard him sing to himself many times. I also heard him say that anybody who loves nature must love God. He also told me once that ideas, as such, stemmed from God.’” -Robert Goldman, “Einstein’s God”

What...I want to claim I know? Why would you say something like that without any evidence?...lol

Look, I believe and have an abundance of faith that there is a Creator an Almighty God that created the universe and everything in it. And I wouldn't say there is zero evidence for His existence.

First we have the Holy Bible which is a revelation from Our Creator Almighty God. The Holy Bible is essentially a historical document. The Holy Bible may look like one book, but it is actually sixty-six books rolled into one. Thirty-nine books make up the Old Testament, and twenty-seven make up the New Testament. Our Creator Almighty God used as many as forty authors over a time period of many centuries a little over 1500 years to write the sixty-six books of the Holy Bible. So there is a lot of history in this highly impactful Sacred Holy Book.

Second we have the Four Gospels of the New Testament written by Matthew, Luke, Mark, and John. These Four Gospels were/are essentially eye-witness accounts of the life of Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ.

The birth, the life, the teachings of His ministry, the miracles He performed, the death and resurrection of Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ are all depicted in these Four Gospels.

The word Gospel means Good News! Good News indeed!, for now we can receive forgiveness of our sins. Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ took our sin upon Himself and died in our place. He shed His innocent sinless blood on the cross for all of mankind.

God made Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Through faith in what Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross, we can receive forgiveness.

    We Read in Scripture:

6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. 1 Timothy 2:6 NLT

21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NLT

Third we have the historicity of Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. Today the myth that Jesus is only a myth has received the equivalent of the death penalty in historical and scholarly circles (although various internet atheist haunts still try in vain to resurrect the charge). As Princeton professor Bruce Metzger wrote decades ago, “Today no competent scholar denies the historicity of Jesus.

Fourth we have archaeological artifacts that authenticates the credibility of the Holy Bible. A simple Google search will bring up all these archaeological artifact findings.

Fifth we have evidence coming from our brilliant scientists. Not too long ago they theorized that the universe had a beginning. Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity means that the universe had a beginning and was not eternal as he had previously believed (Einstein was originally a pantheist). His theory proved that the universe is not a cause, but instead one big effect—something brought it into existence. Einstein disliked his end result so much that he introduced a “fudge factor” into his theory that allowed for an eternal universe. But there was only one problem. His fudge factor required a division by zero in his calculations—a mathematical error any good math student knows not to make. When discovered by other mathematicians, Einstein admitted his error calling it “the greatest blunder of my life.” After his acknowledgment, and upon confirming further research that showed the universe expanding just as his theory of relativity predicted, Einstein bowed to the fact that the universe is not eternal and said, "I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details."

    We Read in Scripture:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NLT

Sixth we have a philosophical explanation. This evidence is based on a logical, rational, reasonable thought process that gives it credibility.

This evidence is called the First Cause Argument. I posted it on pg. 29 #706 of this thread.

To sum up everything, evidence can be defined as: That tends to prove; ground for belief.

So all these evidence I have presented here are evidence that tends to prove and are a ground for belief.

So based on the evidence I have presented it's very logical, rational, reasonable to believe in Our Creator Almighty God!

    We Read in Scripture:

20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:20 NLT

    And that matters morally why?

You feel more morally justified in fleeing responsibility for your own wrongdoing if it is nailed to the suffering of a demigod instead of an average street jo smo?

You feel that fleeing your own moral responsibility and the punishment you yourself say you deserve is good so long as not just anybody else, but a demigod suffers and "dies", only to return a few days later?

Wouldn't it be more of sacrifice from him if he stayed dead?

Only to immediately take them back on resurrection, and not really anyway since you say he never stopped being God.

And if God is all powerful, could he not simply decide to forgive man his sins without the elaborate snuff film like show?

And it doesn't bother you that God threatens to torture us and holds is ransom, demanding this blood sacrifice before he would stop that?

The better foundation is the sermon on the mount. Hippy Jesus is cool and somebody we should emulate. Christ Jesus, not so much.

Yes, that's another troublesome foundation. It has encouraged Christians to view women and their sexual organ as lesser, dirty, and morally unclean.

It also depicts God forcing Mary to conceive a child, taking the choice away from her. This is something few today would call moral and many would call rape if done by any other authority figure to any other woman.

Imagine how naive Joseph would have to be to believe this. No dear, it wasn't the stable boy. It was God!

Of your kind of Christianity yes, and it cheapens the moral value of the story. If Jesus isn't God, then he is sacrificing his life. If he is God, then this is just an elaborate show.

Yes it could. It just wouldn't be your disturbing version of the religion. Greatest I am presents one alternative. There are others as.well, all of which feature Jesus as a central focus, all of which can call themselves "Christianity", and some of which are likely closer to what Jesus himself would have believed. There is no reason to think your version as any more aurhentic as any of theirs.

You have yet to prove that Jesus actually did that, other than by pointing at some stories in a book you like. Nor have you shown that even if he did this, that it would have any moral value.

His sermon in the mount has far more moral value and significance than this story about his resurrection. Buddha is similarly valuable for the same reason and doesn't need to die and come back just to impart moral teachings.

This earlier part of this story tells us what will happen in this later part of this story. Wow. That's amazing.

Is that better or worse than the many people before and since that you say are tortured in hell as a heinous form of punishment for insulting your God? At least Caesar's torture of people ended and didn't go on for eternity.

So what? Why should that carry any moral significance? Even if he did rise from the dead and the body wasn't misplaced or moved, sounds to me that that would lessen the level of sacrifice, not increase it. Wouldn't it be a bigger sacrifice be if he stayed dead?

Um, didn't Lazarus rise from the dead too? Jesus rising somebody else from the dead seems more impressive to me than him himself being risen from the dead. And we have no reason to believe any of this is anything but fiction anyway.

And why is your instinct to quote scripture about that rather than to actually think about if it makes any moral sense?

This is just again saying that you can flee your own moral responsibility that you say you otherwise deserve, by praising the suffering of somebody else. Vicarious redemption is immoral. If you think otherwise, that is a major moral failing on your part.

How utterly pathetic. If you can't find hope in anything but this, I feel very bad for you.

Yes it is. You just attach a lot of significance to said long weekend.

This is TOTAL nonsense. What people believed about religion has nothing to do with science, not for you or me or Einstein or anyone else. One could just as easily decide that some god created a permanent universe. The various postulations concerning what Einstein believed about got have nothing to do with it.

Einstein repeatedly stated that he was agnostic, did NOT believe in a personal god (as you do), and did NOT believe in an afterlife.

Also, god NEVER entered into ANY of his science.
You claim to know Einstein's religious views.

You claim to know that God created this universe, when you have ZERO evidence that it wasn't a natural phenomenon.

You claim there is a god, but even your own religion points out that all you have is faith that you are right.

If Adam and Eve had 33 sons and 23 daughters is incest the will of God?

Not only that, but the Big Bang Theory says nothing at all about what it anything came before it. For all we know it could be an eternal pulsating series of Big Bangs, expansions, collapses, and Big Crunches.

That name "Edna" is such a beautiful lovely name, I say that because that name brings back childhood memories of mine. As a child growing up I remember a neighbor next door a young married woman with that name. She was so beautiful and lovely with such a sweet and kind personality to go with that beautifulness and loveliness that she possessed, needless to say everybody admired and respected her so much!...yes that name "Edna" will always be associated with beautifulness, loveliness, sweetness, and kindness to me.

Ok enough with memory lane and down to business. First that is a very good question and thanks for posing that question. Let me begin by saying the Bible does not give us a specific number of children that Adam and Eve produced. But they likely had hundreds of years of child bearing capability that they probably had 50 or more but again I repeat the Bible does not give us a specific number.

Now to answer your question, during the early stages of mankind incest was not considered a sin and was not prohibited by God. In Genesis 1:28, God said to be fruitful and multiply and so there is little doubt that Adam’s sons and daughters had to have married their own sisters and brothers if the race was to populate the earth, but due to the purity of the race as evidenced also by the long length of life, there were no adverse effects as we see happening today in genetic abnormalities.

Gradually, as the effects of sin took its toll on the human race, marrying one's own sister, etc., began to create hereditary problems. We then see God prohibiting a man from having sexual relations with his sister or half-sister as written in Leviticus 18:9.

    We Read in Scripture:

9 “Do not have sexual relations with your sister or half sister, whether she is your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born into your household or someone else’s. Leviticus 18:9 NLT

The sinful practice of incest today almost always involves a pre-pubescent/powerless victim, and the perp is abusing his or her authority with the goal of unilateral sexual pleasure. By that standard, the “incest” of the Bible has nothing whatsoever in common with modern-day incest. There was no power difference between Cain and his wife, for example.

Intermarriage among close family members was a necessity in the generations immediately following Adam and Noah and was not a sinful perversion of sex.
But by the time of Moses, the human genetic code had become polluted enough that close intermarriage was no longer safe. So, God commanded against sexual relations with siblings, half-siblings, parents, aunts and uncles. Genesis 2:24 seems to indicate that marriage and sexual relations between parents and children were never allowed by God.

So to sum everything up, sexual relations between close relatives were viewed differently pre-Law and post-Law. It did not become “incest” until God commanded against it.

    We Read in Scripture:

24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Genesis 2:24 NLT

6 “You must never have sexual relations with a close relative, for I am the Lord.
7 “Do not violate your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; you must not have sexual relations with her.
8 “Do not have sexual relations with any of your father’s wives, for this would violate your father.
9 “Do not have sexual relations with your sister or half sister, whether she is your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born into your household or someone else’s.
10 “Do not have sexual relations with your granddaughter, whether she is your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, for this would violate yourself.
11 “Do not have sexual relations with your stepsister, the daughter of any of your father’s wives, for she is your sister.
12 “Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister, for she is your father’s close relative.
13 “Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s close relative.
14 “Do not violate your uncle, your father’s brother, by having sexual relations with his wife, for she is your aunt.
15 “Do not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s wife, so you must not have sexual relations with her.
16 “Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife, for this would violate your brother.
17 “Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. And do not take[a] her granddaughter, whether her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, and have sexual relations with her. They are close relatives, and this would be a wicked act.
18 “While your wife is living, do not marry her sister and have sexual relations with her, for they would be rivals. Leviticus 18:6-18 NLT

So again thanks for that question and it was a pleasure for me in responding to it and I hope I adequately answered your question.

    This is typical!!

You quote pieces that confirm what you choose to believe and ignore what you choose NOT to believe.

You get to quote Leviticus when you actually BELIEVE Leviticus.

And, I see NO CHANCE of that.

Your revisionist history has it backwards.
Einstein went through a religious phase when he was a child. He wrote songs in praise of God and sang them while walking to and from school. That changed by age thirteen when he became interested in higher mathematics and philosophy and abandoned his uncritical religious fervor, feeling he had been deceived into believing lies.
He recounted such things from his childhood to Peter Bucky. So what?

Those who portray him as a theist are simply incorrect. He likened his form of religiosity to that of Spinoza, a pantheist who did not support the belief in a "personal" God.

He consistently and unambiguously denied believing in a "personal" god who answered prayers or involved himself in human affairs, exactly the sort of god common to theists claiming that he was one of them.

So I might as well say the same thing to you as I did to gift then....You are indeed entitled to your opinions, however I'm sorry to say I don't agree with them.

    Real knowledge?...lol you're a funny dude trev!

When the critic says you don't have real knowledge he's basing this on his own insight and unless he has insight into 100% of all knowledge he can never be sure he's right.

Only Our Creator Almighty God has insight into 100% of all knowledge because He is omniscient.

    We Read in Scripture:

20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 1 John 3:20 ESV

The Scriptures of the Christian Holy Bible is the Word of God.

    We Read in Scripture:

20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, 21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. 2 Peter 1:20-21 NLT

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

Since all Scripture is the Word of God therefore whatever knowledge I acquire from the Scriptures of the Christian Holy Bible is indeed real knowledge.

We are all 'born in sin' that's just Biblical truth. The Bible makes it clear, it's not me declaring this but Our Creator Almighty God told us this as written in Scripture. We all follow the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature wrote the Apostle Paul. So that's what happened to David he followed his passionate desires to the point that he committed adultery with Bathsheba. In Psalm 51 we find David admitting his sins and asking the Lord for His forgiveness.

    We Read in Scripture:

5 For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5 NLT

3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. Ephesians 2:3 NLT

As a former Christian you should have learned that all Scripture is inspired by God.

Now let me present Psalm 51 below in its entirety.

    We Read in Scripture:

For the choir director: A psalm of David, regarding the time Nathan the prophet came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
    because of your unfailing love.
    Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins.
2 Wash me clean from my guilt.
    Purify me from my sin.
    3 For I recognize my rebellion;
it haunts me day and night.
    4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned;
I have done what is evil in your sight.
You will be proved right in what you say,
and your judgment against me is just.
    5 For I was born a sinner—
yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.
6 But you desire honesty from the womb,
    teaching me wisdom even there.
    7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
    8 Oh, give me back my joy again;
    you have broken me—
    now let me rejoice.
9 Don’t keep looking at my sins.
Remove the stain of my guilt.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11 Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you.
13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels,
and they will return to you.
    14 Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves;
then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.
15 Unseal my lips, O Lord,
that my mouth may praise you.
16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one.
You do not want a burnt offering.
17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.
You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
    18 Look with favor on Zion and help her;
    rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit—
with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings.
Then bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar. Psalm 51:1-19 NLT

    That is sheer tautology.

    Correct.

X-tians cherry-pick verses to support their differently twisted views.

If you wanna see x-tians run away, just start talking about divorce.

The x-tian god-thing said he would destroy Gog and his descendants and send them to the fiery pit, and yet many American x-tians are descended of Gog which is a truth they cannot accept.

That is a classic Straw Man Fallacy, but thanks for your misrepresentation just the same.

We don't know how the Universe began for want of technology, which is not the same thing as "not knowing."

Even so, there is no evidence that the Universe came into being because a supernatural being made it so.

    Faith is irrelevant.

The gospels contradict each other with respect to the day Jesus was allegedly crucified.

Everyone already received forgiveness each year on the Day of Atonement.

To be totally forgiven of all sins by the high priest, all you had to do is not work on the Day of Atonement.

How is it you can not know that?

Metzger has used the "No True Scotsman" Fallacy.

    What's your point?

I can show evidence that the whole thing was a farce in an attempt to overthrow the Pharisees and that Jesus did not die, instead he fled the area.

That is a patently false statement.

None of the gospel writers were alive at the time the gospels were written.

All four gospels contradict each other with respect to the where Jesus was, who he was with and what he was saying/doing.

You are too afraid to sit down, and using original manuscripts instead of the erroneous King Joke Vision, construct a time-line of where Jesus was.

Again, you cannot use the King Joke Vision to do that, because in addition to the fact it is based on the erroneous Erasmus Text which is known to contain 837 errors/contradictions/conflicts, the authors of the King Joke Vision outright lie to deceive people.

For example, Matthew says a specific incident took place in the presence of certain disciples in a certain town. Mark relates the same specific incident except different disciples were present and the incident took place in a different town.

To deceive people and hide this glaring contradiction from them, the King Joke Vision authors lie and say both incidents took place in yet a completely different town, and lie again when they say the disciples mentioned in Matthew's story and Mark's story are in the same place.

That is not the only lie the King Joke Vision authors have perpetrated on people.

In one of the Psalms, the authors of the King Joke Vision wrote it as, "If I forget thee O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning."

The phrase "her cunning" does not appear in either of the two surviving Hebrew texts, Codex Leningradis and Codex Aleppo.

The King Joke Vision translators lied and made it up.

Even so, "If I forget you O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget" is an incorrect translation and even Hebrew translators couldn't get it right for more than 2,000 years.

That is proof there is no god, since none of the translator are connected to any god, because if they were, then they should be able to translate passages correctly.

It is filled with 1,000s of contradictions, errors and conflicts, making its value worthless.

    Archeology also refutes the bible.

A fanatical x-tian archeologist went looking for the 16-named cities allegedly destroyed during the so-called Exodus that never happened.

    He found 10 cities.

Out of the 10 cities he found, 7 of them had not been destroyed as the bible claims they were.

To add insult to injury, 3 of the cities that were not destroyed were not even inhabited at the time of the so-called Exodus and it doesn't matter if you accept the early date or the late date for it.

To rub salt in the wound, those three cities were Ai, Gibeon and Jericho.

Jericho was neither destroyed nor inhabited, which means Joshua walking around the walls blowing his trumpet is nothing but a fantasy.

Of the 3 cities that were destroyed, it is an irrefutable fact that 2 of them were destroyed by "sea peoples."

Of the one remaining city, due to the fact that it is impossible to distinguish Canaanite culture from Hebrew culture, no one is sure if the Canaanites destroyed it or the Hebrews destroyed it.

So much for your archeology claim.

ARB.. demonstrates the "not destroyed cities" were mis identified.

    Oh, yes Romans.

Let's look at Romans in greater detail.

Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God’s appointment,...

Refresh my memory....who is god? Isn't Jesus god when it's Yahweh's turn to be Casper the Friendly Spirit Ghost and then when it's Yahweh's turn to be god, Jesus is Casper the Friendly Spirit Ghost, right? Or wait, isn't Jesus his own dad? That's how that works right, because, you know, polytheism would be like a step backward.

Anyway, let's rewrite the, uh, infallible scripture of god:

Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by Jesus’ appointment,...

    So Jesus appointed Hitler.

Now why would Jesus do a damn fool thing like that?

Romans 13:1 ...and the authorities that exist have been instituted by God.

You all claim Jesus is god, correct? So, we can rewrite that as:

Romans 13:1 ...and the authorities that exist have been instituted by Jesus.

So, let's look at this list of 219 Big Brain authorities that were instituted by Jesus.

Romans 13:2 So the person who resists such authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will incur judgment.

    We can re-write that as:

Romans 13:2 So the person who resists such authority resists the ordinance of Jesus, and those who resist will incur judgment.

Because, you know, Jesus is god, right?

Okay, so that means people like Harriet Tubman and others who helped Negro slaves resist authority are now burning in Hell for their sins. And poor Oskar Schindler. For helping the Jews and resisting Hitler (a favorite appointed by Jesus), Oskar is burning in Hell. And you people want to vote for Jesus? Jesus: Vote for me. I gave you Pol Pot and Stalin. Love me. Love, love me do. Or I'll give you another Hitler to play with.

I hope for your sake's Jesus picks better leaders in Heaven.

Wrong. The Hebrew mytho-history are plagiarized versions of older written stories.

The first written creation story is Enuma elish... and it was written on 7 clay tablets. Six of the tablets describe acts of creation and the 7th tablet extols the virtues of the deities.

It was also written 3,000 years before Abram/Abraham and 4,000 years before Classical Biblical Hebrew became a language.

Those 7 tablets were read over a period of 7 days during the New Year's Festival by a priest from atop a ziggurat in Sumer

The calendar was 360 days with 5 intercalated days.

Terah was the chief priest for the Sumerian god Ninurta, whose Akkadian name was El Shaddai and whose Hurrian name was Teshub.

Since priestly positions were hereditary, Abram/Abraham was a priest-in-training and would have climbed the ziggurat in the city of Ur to read those 7 tablets to the crowd gather below for the festival.

The 1st tablet was read on day 360. The next 5 tablets were read one each day over the 5-day intercalated period. The 7th tablet was read on the 7th day, which was first day of the New Year, and from time immemorial that was the 1st day of Spring until one of the uppity Poops changed it a few centuries ago.

When Abram/Abraham and his half-sister wife Serai/Saran went to Haran in the Hurrian Kingdom with Terah, that was hardly shocking, since Haran was the principle city for Ninurta/El Shaddai/Teshub.

The thing is, he brought those texts with him, in addition to the other texts that make up the first half of Genesis, and he brought them to Canaan.

Later, centuries later, Hebrew scribes were totally discombobulated and they confused reading 7 tablets over 7 days with Earth being created in 7 seven days.

6 tablets of creation read over six days and the 7th tablet extolling the virtues of the gods morphed into Earth was created in 6 days and god rested on the 7th.

But it is clear from reading those tablets that the time span is far greater than 6 days.

Something else is also quite clear....

    That's completely wrong.

The first tablet in Enuma elish.... does not describe the creation of the Universe. It only describes an event that occurred early in the history of our Solar System.

First, "heavens" refers only to our Solar System and secondly, the texts state that Earth was originally in the "hammered out bracelet" -- what is now the Asteroid Belt -- and there was a collision between Earth and a planetoid, ie a large celestial body, much bigger than a common asteroid but not the size of a planet.

That collision shunted Earth and Moon to its present orbit. That is the "creation" to which all ancient texts, including the Hebrew texts refer.

    Science proves that.

Later editors of the Hebrew text deleted large chunks of the stories that Abram/Abraham brought to Canaan because the deemed that material to be irrelevant.

The likely culprits are the Yahweh fanatics Jeremiah and Hilkiah who wrote Deuteronomy and cleverly hid it in the Temple for Josiah to find. They also edited the first four books to conform to the lies and deception in Deuteronomy.

It is they who changed the name of X-Moses.

People whine about not being able to find anything in history about X-Moses.

    Well, duh, why would they?

The word moses is rendered in Egyptian as m-s-s. Egyptian and Classical Biblical Hebrew are consonantal languages, meaning there no vowels, only consonants.

And it is Egyptian and not Canaanite/Hebrew. In fact, every person mentioned in the Exodus Trilogy from the tribes of Reuben, Levi and Simeon have exclusively Egyptian names, like Aaron, Phineas, Dathan et al, while the names of people mentioned from other tribes have exclusively Canaanite names.

No Egyptian parent would be stupid enough to name their kid "emanated from" which is what m-s-s means.

It was always prefixed with the name of god like:

    Ptahmoses: emanated from Ptah
    Tutmoses: emanated from Toth
    Dedumoses: emanated from Dedu
    Rameses: emanated from Ra
    Anmoses: emanated from An

    etc, etc etc.

X-Moses' real name was most likely Anmoses or Amenmoses.

The Yahweh fanatics Hilkiah and Jeremiah would have found that to be offensive in the eyes of Yahweh, not to mention their sheer hatred for all things Mosaic, and they would have stricken it from the texts.

When archeologists find the original E Text, we will know the real name of X-Moses.

And, if you don't believe the hatred for X-Moses by Jeremiah and Hilkiah was in the extreme, then it's because you haven't read the texts.

"Might makes right" is what Mitt's religion ultimately comes down to. As demonstrated repeatedly above, Mitt sees no difference between morality and obedience to power, God being the ultimate symbol of power. So it should not surprise us that he thinks Jesus appointed all those dictators.

I am glad not all Christians share this version of Christianity.

Um, that is correct but what you failed to understand because of your lack of thorough knowledge of Scripture is that it wasn't a sin during pre-Law...meaning before Our Creator Almighty God handed down commandments to Moses. Abraham lived prior to the time of Moses.

Read slowly and carefully so you don't miss a word of what I was quoted saying below in a previous post of mine that obviously you weren't aware of.

Well I like to say that is sheer truth when I express myself with Biblical truths then back up what I said with what's written in Scripture it verifies what I'm saying.

For example, here is a Biblical truth: Our Creator Almighty God created time, space, and matter all at the same moment as we note by the first 10 words in Scripture.

    We Read in Scripture:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 NLT

    In the beginning (there's time)
God created the heavens (there's space)
    and the earth (there's matter)

Your lack of thorough knowledge of Scripture is showing again. What willy said is incorrect. Truth is Christians do not go into eternal punishment. Anybody who goes into eternal punishment is not a Christian, only atheists and all other non-Christians go to eternal punishment.

If you claim to be a Christian but find yourself in eternal punishment one day that means Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ deemed you a non-Christian. Let's not forget Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ is omniscient. He knows who His Christians are and only allows Christians into Paradise in His Kingdom of Heaven. True Disciples of the Lord have belief and faith and do the will of the Father.

    We Read in Scripture:

    True Disciples

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Matthew 7:21-23 NLT

Furthermore, there is no where in Scripture where Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ specifically says, "Those going away into eternal punishment include my followers who failed to fulfill the requirements I laid out."

Obviously willy and you have definitely misinterpreted the passage in Scripture regarding the "sheep" and the "goats". The "sheep" represents Christians/believers and the "goats" represents unbelievers such as atheists and all other non-Christians.

In the passage below "those on the left" is referring to the "goats" who are all the unbelievers. And the righteous who go into eternal life are the Christians/believers. This is the part you and willy have misinterpreted Scripture.

    We Read in Scripture:

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said,

41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’
46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.” Matthew 25:41-46 NLT

Thank you for reading my citation from the Bible.

But, that citation supports exactly what I pointed out.

Jesus clearly points out that those who are not walking the walk are NOT those who will receive eternal life.

Accepting Jesus as your personal savior is necessary. But, it isn't sufficient.
