south of the border is way more Christian then the USA
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." matthew 6:24
it seems to me that protecting god's environment IS a kind of prayer, and excessive logging, drilling, and polluting is deliberate worship of mammon (money, jobs, the economy) instead.
Before I can accept that thiis country is a Christian nation I will have to see those that make that claim act as Christians.
Pray all you like to the invisible man in the sky. I'll reply on studying to pass any exam, medicine to cure ailments and a sprinkler to water my garden when nature doesn't provide rain.
a sprinkler? cut the living heart from your neighbor and the rain god will send water in due time.
the idea that some god cares who wins a football game or who survives a battle might be a little neolithic.
Here are a couple of great quotes
The 2nd coming came and went around 70AD.
There's no more 2nd coming.
God is omnipotent and omniscient, he knows what satan is doing and does nothing to interfere so he either approves of what satan is doing or doesn't care.
70 AD is when the Romans besieged Jerusalem and killed its defenders and dispersed the survivors across their empire. The 2nd coming of Jesus as King of Kings is still in the future.
God is not confined by your puny boxes - God can treat individuals as individuals, cause God would know motivations and history of each individual.
In your puny world, God would have to send a 10 year old who had never heard of Him to eternal damnation - so forgive me for saying, "you don't know Jack ...
Wrong on both counts. He does care and didn’t do nothing. There was a war in heaven and Lucifer and the angels who sided with him were expelled from Heaven. God gave His creation free will to love and obey Him or not. Because of that God had to let Lucifers ideas play out. Had he simply destroyed satan and his followers the rest of creation would have worshipped out of fear and wondered if maybe Lucifer did have something. Or God could have denied us free will so we could obey like automatons with no choice. Instead He gave Satan a change to prove his ideas right and He was successful only here and his efforts are clearly failing. His time is about up. He knows that he has lost and now he’s simply trying to take down as many of us as he can to share Hell with him and his angels.
So God is so vested in people hearing his word so that they can choose to obey or not, that He simply forgot to make sure that the Bible
was instantly translated to every language around the world so that people who lived outside the Jerusalem area would have the information
to make that decision ...
Hell, dude - a middle-aged homemaker in England was able to get her books translated to every language and distributed around the world in two months -
but your claim is that an omnipotent God couldn't do the same in under 1,500 years because he so cares about people hearing the word.
Bless your heart.
So love and obey god or go to hell. My only consolation is that the god that actually exists is NOTHING like you portray her as.
God does treat individuals as individuals. He looks upon the heart. He will save everyone who lives according to the best light they’ve been shown. No matter what they knew God as during their life. God would never send a person who has not reached the age of accountability to Hell. The same applies to those who never heard of Him as the Israelites or then the Christians know Him.? Like I said above, if they lived their lives to the best they were shown where and when they lived, they will be saved. It is only if they are shown more light and then reject it that their salvation would be lost.
Which gets back to the old joke where a preacher goes to an Native American and tells him that only those who accept God can go to heaven. ...
and the Native American asks what happened to his ancestors who never heard the word of God, and the Preacher tells him that they aren't
going to hell because they were unaware of God's word ... and the Native American just looks at the Preacher in disbelief and then kills the Preacher
so that the rest of his family is safe from hearing the words.
It is true that once a person has learned of Jesus and What He did to save us from sin and rejects the good news of the gospel that person has no chance whatsoever of ending up in Heaven as long as they persist in the rejection. Jesus was right when he said none could be saved except through through Him. It was His death and resurrection that atoned for our sin so all those through time and place who never knew of Israel or Christianity who lived according to the best they were shown and accountable for are still saved through His death and resurrection even though they never knew Him as Jesus. The modern American or western civilization person who has heard the Christian gospel and of Jesus death and resurrection and openly rejects it and him has openly embraced the fires of hell as none who deny Him can be in Heaven.
There is a reason religion relies on indoctrinating us as kids. Because it knows no one with cognitive thinking skills would ever buy into the fiction that is religion.
Don't you recall when the world ended a few years ago?
And we decided not to tell all the stupid pe.....oh... never mind
not at my age anyway. damn lucky to see a 1st.
And yet committed life long atheists have found God and became believers….
Says you. Even if true...exception to the rule
From the Dixie Chicks, praise the lord and pass the ammunition.
If one wants to think about magic, sure.
Thank god none of that is actually true since god is not that evil.
Wow...that brings back memories of junior high in a Christian School. The fierce way they prayed for a damn stupid football game victory was just so damn silly -- but they were serious as hell and prayed like the Lord was in the stadium lights!
Obviously, that snippet of "Christian DNA" is still around.
