    Trying to find the thread where I was arguing with someone about Pelosi 'holding up NAFTA'.

    Looks like the concerns were sorted out and it's a go. Interesting to do it now, but likely Pelosi wanted to get it done before Christmas so any big news about a Win for Trump would likely die down by the New Year.

    It's a Trump trade deal and Nancy is tying to take credit for it. She sat on it for a year.

    If the trade deal is good for America, Democrats won't pass it and the last thing Democrats will do is give trump a win.

    How is she trying to take credit for it? The house didn’t agree with provisions and the senate didn’t agree with items they wanted to see included. They struck a compromise. This is exactly how government is supposed to work.

    Meanwhile the Senate is sitting on close to 400 bills from the House that they are not even allowed discussions on.

    I feel in the force that the Democrats desperately want to change the subject off impeachment. They even sent al green out their to try to turn it all into a race issue.

    What does Pelosi want more than anything? To remain Speaker.

    Personally what I think you're going to see with impeachment and now USMCA support is the impeachment vote failing in the House.

    trump proposed it (good for him) congress narrowed and refined it.
    This is how the process works. Why is this suddenly an issue?

    Why would that matter to the impeachment process and force a failing vote in the house?

    It is a win for Trump. He pushed for it to be started, and then Congress worked together to find a compromise to make it work. One of the best (and unfortunately only) examples of the US Govts 2 institutions working together to put forth something they feel is for the best of the people. Trump should definitely take a victory lap on this one and everyone involved should get a bit of credit for the hard work necessary to get it done.

    It's killing the Dems to hand this win to Trump, but the union(AFL-CIO) puppet-masters are yanking the Dem's strings to get this done, and Nancy has to give something to the vulnerable Dems in swing states to take home to their districts for Christmas other than buckets of steaming impeachment crap.

    One more win for Trump to toss up on the ever-growing Mt. Winning.

    Of course. We weren't going to pass it until the US did. You had to wait for our Federal Election to go by as the summer and Sept was filled with negotiations for compromise now that the Dems had the House. It's right before Christmas so in terms of the campaign, It likely won't be much of a bump depending on how long the effects take to really kick in.
    Honestly though, I think announcing it the same day as the Impeachment articles will work against Nancy as now there are 2 competing stories in the news, one that helps Trump and one that Hurts.

    That's why I think she had to do it today because of Mexico's push.
