Is this really neceassary? I guess those at the top of the CoC are prolly at risk, so everyone they come into contact with in the course of maintaining defensive readiness needs to be quarantined away with them. Makes sense. NORAD is basically ground zero for our nuclear strike capabilities. If someone gets Coronavirus then they automatically have to quarantine for 14 days (or 72 hours if your branch of the military doesn't like to listen to the CDC). Last thing you want is for the essential personnel tasked with running NORAD to all get sick and be forced to quarantine at the same time. So in order to help prevent that they decided to isolate them at Cheyenne Mountain. Don't worry we aren't planning for WWIII next month. This is standard operating procedure these sorts of weird policies for folks like this happens everyday you just don't hear about it. The nuke folks spend a lot of their time at Peterson AFB and some of their time at Cheyenne Mountain. What you don't want is for an outbreak to happen at Petersen which just made all of your nuke people catch Corona so they are basically sticking them all at the mountain instead which is much less staffed than the AFB reducing the threat of the virus. America has always maintained the ability to put nuclear warheads on every major city on planet Earth at any given time. Our conventional and nuclear strike posture has always been there, it's just been overshadowed by the terrorism war stuff for the past 20 years which is why you don't hear about things like this very often.
