    Perfect explanation of Donald Trump

I got this from someplace but it's been so long I don't remember where.

    Interesting perspective....

Like many citizens, I've wondered and tried hard to understand why
Trump has such a remarkable following. (It's obvious why he probably
Should not!) Then a friend sent me this raccoon story.
Maybe this is how the majority of people feel? And this applies to
    Both democrats and republicans.
You've been on vacation for two weeks, you come home, and your
Basement is infested with raccoons. Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean
Raccoons have overtaken your basement. You want them gone immediately.
You call the city, 4 different exterminators, but nobody can handle
The job. But there is this one guy and he guarantees you to get rid of
Them, so you hire him. You don't care if the guy smells, you don't
Care if the guy swears, you don't care if he's an alcoholic, you don't
Care how many times he's been married, you don't care if he has a
Plumber's' crack, you simply want those raccoons gone! You want your
Problem fixed! He's the guy. He's the best. Period !
Here's why we want Trump, yes he's a bit of an ass, yes he's an
Egomaniac, but we don't care. The country is a mess because
Politicians suck, the Republicans and Democrats can be two-faced &
Gutless, and illegals are everywhere. We want it all fixed! We don't
Care that Trump is crude, we don't care that he insults people, we
Don't care that he has changed positions, we don't care that he's been
Married 3 times, we don't care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and
Rosie O'Donnell, we don't care that he doesn't know the name of some
    Muslin terrorist.
This country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we
Are being invaded by illegals, we are becoming a nation of victims
Where every Tom, Ricardo, and Hasid is a special group with special
Rights to a point where we don't even recognize the country we were
Born and raised in; "AND WE JUST WANT IT FIXED" and Trump is the only
Guy who seems to understand what the people want.
We're sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic Party, Republican
Party, and sick of illegals. We just want this thing fixed. Trump may
Not be a saint, but he doesn't have lobbyist money holding him, he
Doesn't have political correctness restraining him, all you know is
That he has been very successful, a good negotiator, he has built a
Lot of things, and he's also not a politician, he's not a cowardly
Politician. And he says he'll fix it. And , we believe him because he
Is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or looked at and called a
Liar. Also, we don't care if the guy has bad hair. We just want those
Raccoons gone, out of our house, NOW.
Maybe this is why thousands of people who haven't voted in 25 years are getting involved. The raccoons have got to go.

It's all because you and Trump and "many citizens" been duped by the same source(s)
to believe that some people are raccoons... just animals that need to be exterminated.
Does people being exterminated ring a bell for you?

All my life I have heard many people claim we needed to get rid of the politicians (lawyers) and elect business people (who worked for a living). Well finally we had enough of the BS and elected Trump. He is working hard for the USA and the results prove it. But now some people don't like the way he talks or the color of his hair so they attack him. If you have ever worked in business you know how the executives talk. They can out-cuss a sailor and they don't pull their punches. This is who Trump is and he is goal driven. Give 'um hell Trump. Trump in 2020.

I worked for a company that had the most foul irritating owner imaginable. People either loved him or hated him. There was not much in-between but you always knew where you stood with him.

Actually he was in a very competitive bidding national business and when I came on board as an estimator I knew he was in trouble so kept upping the estimates which pissed him off. I left and the business went under and he made more money working for someone else.

His problem was trying to have too much control when it got bigger. He was a great salesman though.

A fair enough opinion, I cannot fault anyone for thinking like this.

    Here's the thing:

Those 'Raccoons' are actually human beings, whom have the same voting rights you do.

And as a country, we espouse freedom above nearly EVERYTHING else. We don't have many laws based on a moral stance, and if a action is not directly illegal, there is nothing the government can do.

And human nature has taken a serious nosedive as of late. Many people of all types are selfish and self-centered. They feel no shame, so good luck shaming them to conform to high moral standards. And their actions, even if not illegal, still have an emotional, and sometimes physical impact on other people. We do not live in a vacuum, after all.

So, what can we do to fix this? I cannot see a solution that wouldn't violate a person's rights.

So, any ideas of how to deal with these people?

To add to this, many of us learned the lessons the Democratic Party taught their voters:

Yes, the president is an immoral person lacking character who lies under oath and cheats on his wife. But the character of the president doesn't matter, as Bill Clinton taught us.

Yes, the president consistently lies and uses government power to punish his enemies and reward his friends. But honesty and integrity doesn't matter, as Barak Obama taught us.

Democrats made it easy for us to tell ourselves it's OK to overlook the many character flaws a president might have as long as he is working to oppose the other other party and implement the changes we'd like to see after an eight year nightmare by the previous administration.

The left is simply upset that we are using their standards without any guilt...

I think the OP used the raccoon analogy to describe the Washington DC swamp and the entitled class who has ruined our country...

Like all Presidents, Trump has just moved the raccoons to a different room in the same house and some people praise that... until someday down the road, someone opens a door and finds them.

    Same story, different day.

They have been priming you for 40 years. Trump is no accident. Sooner or later the ideology was going to produce such a leader. You can see the degeneration from Reagan to Bush to Trump. It is the problem with rich kids, they are always dumber than their parents.

Perhaps, but in that scenario, it's important to remember that there are plenty of both Republicans AND Democrats that are morally bankrupt and corrupt, it's not limited to one side.

And should it really matter WHICH side is more corrupt? That is a subjective opinion, and the criteria for making that determination will differ for each person.

In a realistic world, either BOTH sides will have to give up all of their corruption at the same time, or we will have to expect ANY change in government going forward to slow to a snail's pace.

The alternative will involve a massive amount of death and destruction, and I would hope neither side wants that.

Washington has always been a disgusting cesspool. It’s a parasite, living off the rest of the country.

Trump enjoys mocking the establishment and the rest of us relish every moment.

I agree that this is the reason a lot of people like him, but the reason I like him is because during his inauguration speech, he said he would give the country back to the people. It's something that he's doing, and that is why so many hate him. There are far too many who hate the idea of freedom. It's scary to think that they'll have to do for themselves, just as the same is scary to the swamp who profit from taking our freedom.

How many times have we heard that tired old nonsense about how healthcare is a right. They don't care that this involves using violence, or that it gives the government too much power. This is why the left hates him.

1/2 the swamp has sided with tRUMP. To protect their swamp from being drained. Because they must be afraid? The R party is just as much the entitled class as the D party.

Some people long for a dictator. Someone that will relieve them of having to think or make difficult decisions. They hover around a "strong" leader, one that will guide them to safety and isolation from others that don't share their opinions. The dictator will give voice to their fervent wish that someone will speak for them and attack the threatening people that seem in control. Someone without an ounce of "PC," someone that will, tell them off.

Trump's the man. What the strong leader doesn't warn, however, is that with loss of responsibility also goes loss of freedom to think and act on your own

Meanwhile, Trump is spending millions of taxpayer money to go golfing. Trump isn't special. He's just drinking from the other end of the swamp.

    Thing is

Is he getting the job done or just piddling about playing golf and tweeting whilst letting the bears (Russia, NK and others) in to deal with the raccoons. Yes you now do not have a raccoon problem but you DO have a bear problem

Enough already complaining about a president playing golf. They all do it and it cost us plenty. It's woven into the fabric of the presidency. It's like complaining that the president eats 3 meals a day that we have to pay for or that the taxpayers are stuck paying the electric bill for the White House. Accept it cause it ain't going to change. The next and the next and the next will be on the links.
