You can search all day and you will come up with the same results 98% of the time Top most dangerous breed is the Pit bull.

This is a particular bugaboo of mine with conservatives. The first thing out of their mouths about anything is that people should take "personal responsibiity" but when one of their monsters happens to get loose, well, the kid shouldn't have been so helpless looking or the cat shouldn't have been hunting mice there, or don't you know better than to walk your dog in the park? but in any case the last person who is going to admit they were responsible is the ****** dog owner.

The solution here is simplicity itself. Mandatory insurance for dangerous breeds and serious jail time for the owners who are caught without. The cons, of course, will all go crazy because this limits the FFFRREEEDDOOMM of some fracking moe-ron who lives in an apartment, cant afford the dog food he eats himself and hasn't visited his own child in 3 years to prove how manly they are by having a virtual lion as pet; but I think it's high time we show these jerktards that you're expected to PAY for the harm you do others with no good reason even if this is 'Murica, land of the tough guys

You could add Chows and Sharpeis into the mix. I too carry a gun because of those dogs attacking my Catahoulas. My dogs do stand their ground but NEVER initiate an attack. To some dog owners, owning these breeds is just a sign of "machismo". A close range bullet will stop them for sure.

And how you managed to inject politics in to this thread is just nonsense! Where is your data on breed of dog and their owners party affiliation?

Years ago my daughter was viciously attacked by a neighbors chow who had gotten off it's chain and pulled her off her bicycle and tore meat off her butt. I don't hold the dog responsible but I do hold the owner responsible.

I am sorry, it's purely anecdotal and I have to confess that my personal experience here has clouded my vision. I have never yet met a pit bull owner who wasn't a staunch conservative and in fact a Trump supporter but that is only 3 people

You aren't a liar. I already said I didn't doubt the truth of your story. An anecdote isn't a lie. It is just a bad justification. As far as your question goes, it is intellectually dishonest because you are pretending the breed is the deciding factor when it isn't. My answer is the same if you sub in any large breed.

Yeah, and I'm a pit owner and not exactly the biggest Trump fan. In fact, most pit owners around here are fairly liberal. There is a big rescue community and a lot of pits to rescue.

What the wolf has over any domestic dog is endurance, speed, teamwork, and a vast knowledge of the wild.

You also never answered the question either :)

It's still here today, when you figure out how to answer it :)

It is a risk you take on yourself to on that kind of dog.

I absolutely believe that dog training is worth the time and effort but you can't train a dog not to be a dog. He's still going to dig up your flower beds he's still going to bark. He's still going to chew up your house slippers.

Pit bulls are actually very smart. I've trained dogs for over 30 years, just retired. The only reason I would ban pits is because of the idiots that use them for the so called entertainment of fighting. I've owned and trained Pits, German Shepherds and a host of other dogs. Next I guess the ban on Cocker Spaniels should be next, they bite and have just a few less 'fatalities' than Pits and number 2 on the bite list. Look all I'm saying is if you don't know how to train your own pet ( I don't mean playing fetch or sit) and want a dog like a pit, shepherd, rotty, spaniel or poodle etc. have it professionally trained. (no this isn't an advertisement I'm retired)

You personally insulted me by suggesting I'm a racist. I'm not going to take someone seriously when they ask me stupid questions.

I wish more folks were like you when it comes to animals and exhibit common sense. All animals can detect that nervousness, dog, cat or horses included. I'm looking out my window right now at my 23 year old horse Boomer that senses when people are afraid of him, he won't do anything but scoot backwards away from you. My 4 year old grand daughter loves him and will walk right up to her and he is very gentle. Next year she will begin to ride him.

Good answer. Bad people make bad dogs. Before anyone hyperventilates there are exceptions to the rule. Also I might add anyone that chains a animal should be put on a chain themselves.

Not really , dogs have it in there genes now to protect their owner..

No dog will turn on his master..dogs have brains, and pit bulls know this when they are puppies

Dogs do things that masters don't like. They pee in the wrong place they bark they dig. They are still animals. And though you can train them they indeed still have brains and do things that are outside their training.

A dog doesn't have to turn on its master to attack someone.

No, dogs are domesticated..they have been bred that way..

They are not animals ( just my opinion)

    They like people
