There is one song actually that my people wheel out from time to time. Spoiler Guess we miss our Freddie and love our Queen.
blatant and unashamed attempt to invigorate thread no one else wants to share the music of their people???
Don't blame me if this causes you to have an increase in anger........ I listened to this song over and over and over again when I was about five, six, seven, eight years of age! The Clancys-Kevin Barry
and the British laws may crush the Irish but they cannot keep their spirits down. I wonder what the Gaelic word is for 'deep'.
This was written and recorded by my father at some studio in London in 1973 for Dolphin Records on the Decca Label... I guess that's "my" people.
This is the Scottish Gaelic word for "deep" .... domhainn For the record my dad's ancestors were largely Scottish and English from northern Ireland but my mom's ancestors were Irish mostly from southern Ireland so my growing up listening to so much by the Clancy Brothers was kind of ironic in many ways. By the time I was in my teens I was listening to.......... Bat Out of Hell
"domhainn loch" "I know Scottish" ... I know I'd politely never accept Scottish bank notes just because I don't have to accept every form of legal tender if I don't want to and Scottish notes are a hassle in my South London neighbourhood of Thornton Heath when the post office is closed and my bank left the neighbourhood. I believe my Tesco operate the same ethos as I've met Scottish friends of friends staying over down here looking to exchange... I've never been to Scotland, but, would they not accept my bank of England money? Randomness on my mind.
Speaking of songs that cause our emotions to rise................. .... in a unique sort of way........ Native American YHWH
Toward the time when Germany was clearly losing the war Adolf Hitler is rumoured to have made a statement somewhat along the line of....... "If I had two divisions of Canadians I could have won the war.............. and if I had two divisions of the Forty Eight Tribes from North America I could have sent my army home." He made that statement to anger his Generals... .and hopefully inspire them to beyond the call of duty efforts..... which to a degree was done at the Battle of the Bulge. Listening to this right now...... Main Theme (From "Battle Of The Bulge")
