Portland shooting leaves 1 dead as pro-Trump group clashes with BLM

    "Violent clashes between a massive pro-Trump caravan that drove through Portland, Ore., and Black Lives Matter protesters left at least one person dead in a shooting Saturday evening, according to reports.

    Video posted on social media showed a person suddenly dropping to the ground, and others rushing to assist, after what appears to be gunfire near an intersection as vehicles and pedestrians pass by.

    Portland police said they were investigating a homicide in the area where the pro-Trump group and counter-protesters clashed but did not say whether the gunfire was directly related to the protests.

    Police said Saturday evening no suspect information would be immediately released."

    It isn't known who was shot or what group they were with but it is believed at this point the person was part of the pro Trump group but that is unconfirmed.

    The only reason this has continued is because of a failed Democrat mayor that should have put a stop to it a long time ago yet he continues to refuse help. He says he can handle it. I wonder how long the citizens of Portland can handle it.

    No one should support death; I do not support the rioters nor do I support armed individuals seeking to inflame the situation
    People just seem to be begging for mass death

    Portland is THE poster child for martial law since the "authorities" (I insult that word by using it) have demonstrated that either by their breathtaking incompetence and/or brazen complicity can not (or more likely WILL NOT) protect the citizens and property of that city. A heavy hammer should have been dropped on this crap LONG ago.

    I'm just reading the news this morning. This is awful. I can't believe the rioters are celebrating a man's death. That is not a mentally sane or rational response.

    It's going to escalate. This has been brewing for more than a year. Portland's mayor doesn't have a clue about how volatile this situation could be.

    Idiots on both sides, just like in Kenosha.

    And "BLM" nor "Antifa" have anything to do with it. When the suspect was black he was referred to as BLM. Now that he is white they are calling him Antifa. As if there are only two option and everyone not on the alt right fits into one of the two buckets.

    I saw a video of the actual shooting. It looks like the victim was walking alone at the time he was shot. Earlier in the day, and apparently for 3 days in a row, there have been Trump counter-protester caravans of trucks driving through Portland's downtown streets where the protesters are.

    Trump re-Tweeted several video clips from earlier in the evening, including one showing the Trump supporters shooting the left-wing people on the streets with paint balls and pepper spray. Trump taking sides bothers me quite a bit. He should be firmly against the violence and riots, but appearing to be okay with his supporters being aggressive is an unforced error on his part, IMO. That will likely cost him some votes.

    People have a right to protest. People have a right to counter-protest. No one on either side should be throwing any projectiles or shooting at each other. These are sad days in America.

    There is another guy on that video with a black Hoodia and lighter pants who is running at full speed past the white shirt guy. I would consider him a suspect as well.

    Excellent. So you agree that felons' lives don't matter. Therefor convicted felon George Floyd's life did not matter. Convicted felon Jacob Blakes's life did not matter. The two convicted felons who were killed in Kenosha by a teen did not matter. In other words, the entire BLM movement is built on the bodies of people who did not matter.

    Agreed? Please don't try to explain how some convicted felon's lives don't matter but others do, that would be silly.

    I kind of expected to see the usual suspects cheering on this thread that a fascist/nazi had been "eliminated" in Portland. You know, like the video of the BLM/ANtIFA folks in portland. Maybe it's just a locals only kind of celebration.

    As we've seen from the Kenosha events, even protecting the city from protesters/vandals/rioters/arsonists is now considered racist, don't you know... And when a white guy gets shot, well, that's fine, he wasn't part of the brownshirts, or the stazi ANTIFA.

    I think democrats have entirely lost their collective minds here. That they continue (Kamala says these protests will be "endless" and she supports their "path to justice" wtf that means...) unabated, and cities like Portland are demonstrating that real equity and equality are inconsistent with democratic party values these days.
