    They can use any color they want. I think they typically use bright green because it is less common than other colors.

    :) I should specify that in this case, the frequency is not due to flickering on and off as with the spinning wheel. This refers to the frequency of a varying magnetic and electric field.

    Absolutely. my friend.

    The essential question is this:

    How does listening to Dark Side of the Moon impact the psyche of someone doing pure/uncut LSD25?

    *Insert random Timothy Leary reference*

    And on a personal note:

    I appreciate your input. :salute:

    Green is more reflective of light but yes they could use any color. Blue is sometimes used as well.

    At the heart of all modern electronics are millions and millions of transistors. It is always amazing to see how small transistors have gotten.

    Here are typical transistor packages that have been in use since the 70s and 80s. These are single transistors.

    This - the core of the latest processor from IBM - has 20 BILLION transistors on it. IBM claims that In 2026, the number of transistors on processor will surpass the number of neurons in a human brain - 100 billion.

    Which probably explains why each generation of computer is getting more and more stubborn to operate. Pretty soon you will have to pay them a fair wage just to get them to work.

    The male seahorse incubates the eggs, until they hatch. A very suitable way to do things I believe.
    And, there is a type of penguin whose males carry the eggs on their feet. Also quite acceptable.

    I think they are setting a very poor example for males of all species. It is hard work making sperm. Today alone I nearly wore myself out. We deserve a break.

    Tie a string around the earth at the equator and pull it tight.

    Now add one foot to the length of the string.

    What would be the uniform gap created between the earth and the string by adding one foot to its length?

    Take a guess. What would you expect?

    Damned surprising answer!

    C1 is the circumference of the earth and the initial length of the string
    C2 is the new length of the string after adding one foot = C1 + 1
    C1 = 2 x pi x R1 [where R1 is the radius of the earth]
    C2 = 2 x pi x R2 [where R2 = R1 + Gap]
    Gap = R2 - R1

    Gap = R2 - R1 = [(C1 + 1 ) / (2 x pi)] - [C1 / (2 x pi)]

    Gap = 1 / (2 * pi) = one foot / 6.28 =~ 1.9 inches

    Not what you expected? Note that the size of the earth completely drops out. The answer is the same no matter how big or small you make it. The gap will be the added length divided by 2 x pi.

    If you start with an initial size of zero [no length] and add one foot, in other words, if you take one foot of string, you can make a circle with a radius of 1 / (2 x pi)

    Only one like? Damn! That's one of my favorites. :D

    I had a boss who liked to be a smart ass. He was always asking how long he'd have to fck a glass of water to make it boil. I don't know why. He was like that. So one day I did the calculation just to make him shut up; about 100 hours given reasonable assumptions. But I also pointed out that he would stop long before it was boiling.

    Even though an electrical signal typically travels through a wire at about 1/2 the speed of light, or 93,000 miles per second, you could outrun the current flow - the electrons moving through the wire.
