President Biden

Get used to it.

One thing I'd like to comment about Biden. Obama was better at oratory, but he rose to the presidency with very little experience in the senate, and I suspect McConnell and other repubs in the senate resented it, and that might be one of the big reasons they blocked his agenda like no opposing president in history.

Biden is a different breed, he's been in the senate for years, since I was in my 20s in the 70s, he knows everyone by name, and knows the legislative process, what it takes to get a stubborn senate to go his way, now that he has the pulpit. Where Obama was good as speeches, Biden is a better schmoozer, which is a good thing in my view. In fact, I think Biden will be a better president than Obama, as much as he was liked.

Now, I don't expect McConnell to put things on the floor that are diametrically opposed to his conservative values, but much of the reason why McConnell didn't bring anything to the floor from the house, was the fact that he didn't want to put any bill on the president's desk that the president wouldn't sign. He won't have that issue with Biden, so I expect the Senate will be working the house more, as they should be doing.

In other words, folks, welcome to normalcy, it's about time.

How are we gonna be able to financially support UNLIMITED illegals? I'm curious about this. also, how is no borders "normalcy"?

 

I live in Los Angeles, so I am already used to it. I sure hope Republicans don't give him the Trump treatment.

 

It all depends on what they start with first. One thing that will be different is Biden will talk with the Senate and House leaders.

I could envision McConnell getting on board with a infrastructure bill for example.

 

Biden will be the first president to take the oath of office with his wife and sister there to catch him if he falls. And what are the late night comedians going to do with nobody like Trump to demonize?

 

Maybe they'll be forced to do actual comedy again.

 

Trump printed $7 trillion in fake money in just 4 years, Obama printed $8.9 trillion in 8 years ... finding money for a few million illegals (many who have jobs) isn't
even in the top 20 of our problems.

And a final hint - no fence does not equal no borders. We've deported millions of illegals before Trump's fence and we'll keep doing it after Trump is gone.

 

They haven't done comedy in the sense of the early SNL years for so long that they've disqualified themselves. Or am I mistaken?

 

I'm sure I can get used to President Placeholder..err I mean Biden, for however long that lasts, but I don't believe it will be anything like "welcome to normalcy." Normalcy is pretty much over.

Where is it written that we have to support them? Every illegal I've ever met (and I grew up in So. California so I've met quite a few) were working people supporting themselves. It's a common right wing myth that they come here just to get on the dole.

I seem to recall that they had no shortage of material in the many decades of late night TV that came before Trump.

 

President Biden isn't important, nor is President Trump.

What's important is that government is gridlocked for at least two more years.

 

What's wrong with the guy who cannot stay still? Does he need his wife and daughter to catch him if he falls?

 

Wind does tend to blow hot air around, so that maybe what you are seeing.

I find it kind of funny that Captain Bonespurs salutes since there is no requirement for any person in civilian clothes to return a salute.

 

That is easy. Some will work at mar-a-lago. Most of the rest will work in agriculture (largely employed by Trump voting farmers) or in construction.

A few will become gang members and used as scapegoats for political reasons while both parties pocket lobby profits from the illegal workers employed by donars.

That is the same for anyone in power. Trump was under constant attack. I sure hope Republicans don't do the same to Biden. Its just not good for the country.

 

I grew up in Los Angeles and know what it is like to fear for my life. Gangs from south of the border strengthen their numbers through illegal immigration. Gang members robbed me on my way to the library when I was a child. Ive had a loaded gun aimed at my face and had to cut through back yards on my way home from school because they threatened to kill me and my family.

Armed police officers didn't even feel safe and tried to have a wall built around the station.

Those defending illegal immigration never had to live like I did.

 

Don't you ever ask yourself why? Does it never enter your mind that Trump is the problem?
