Funny, no mention of using force to preserve the union. Lincoln said force would only be used to collect duties and imposts.

Hard to say. No doubt WWI might have turned out differently. In fact, depending upon the outcome, there may have been on WWII or even a Cold War. Certainly not a Korea or Vietnam.
