"...underneath those fuzzy-sweater vibes, the spices in “the PSL” have a dark history. Particularly nutmeg. It’s a story of war, genocide and slavery." "The matter was settled in 1667 when the English agreed to end its claims to the Bandas in exchange for an island the Dutch considered worthless: Manhattan." "And, for the record, Manhattan boasts 240 Starbucks that are peddling pumpkin-spice lattes at this very moment." https://www.washingtonpost.com/hist...ry-behind-your-favorite-fall-starbucks-latte/ For heavens sake! Don't drink the coffee. It's tainted with the blood of the oppressed. Please don't support the evil corporate exploitation of indigenous peoples. The drinking of pumpkin spice lattes is the most vile of cultural appropriation. They are the exclusive right of the Bandanese people; of whom the genocidal Dutch nearly wiped out. Besides all that, the stuff tastes awful.
I don't drink coffee either, but I go to Starbucks, sometimes at lunchtime during the week. They have high protein snack items like cheese, nuts, and eggs and they also have fruit and baked goods. They have a lemon glazed cake that's pretty good when fresh! Their hot chocolate could be more flavorful but they do offer it. They used to sell a decent smoothie, but they are no longer on the menu. Plus, you can use your laptop during lunch without looking out of place.
If you have to put all that crap in your coffee, it ain't coffee anymore. Candy coffee is for sissies. Go black or go back.
The people who go to Starbucks will probably eat this crap up. Maybe they can boycott nutmeg, LOL. Nutmeg is for Painkillers anyhow
Literally nobody cares. Drink your damn latte. The history of it is horrible, but have you read history? The vast majority of it is horrible. This is 2019, nobody is genociding anyone in the Bantu Islands except maybe woke ex-Pumpkin latte drinkers who take away one of their two significant forms of trade - nutmeg.
