    I've never posted on this sub, but I came across a fictional short story that I think is a remarkable expression that warrants airing here.

    Brutally poetic.

    It IS remarkable expression. And it IS brutally poetic.

    The line that had me go back and reread - several times - was: We’re all we’ve got, and forever is a long, slow slog without love.
