another six (6) years as Russian LEADER!

MOSCOW -- Vladimir Putin rolled to a crushing re-election victory Sunday for six more years as Russia's president, and he told cheering supporters in a triumphant but brief speech that "we are bound for success."

There had been no doubt that Putin would win in his fourth electoral contest; he faced seven minor candidates and his most prominent foe was blocked from the ballot.

His only real challenge was to run up the tally so high that he could claim an indisputable mandate.

With ballots from 80 per cent of Russia's precincts counted by early Monday, Putin had amassed 76 per cent of the vote. Observers and individual voters reported widespread violations including ballot-box stuffing and forced voting, but the claims are unlikely to dilute the power of Russia's longest-serving leader since Josef Stalin.

I'm glad he made it! In these highly charged times, no one else would fit the bill. The Russian people are not dumb, they know they are targeted and have to be strong and united to face their foe. In the past years Putin has demonstrated his diplomatic skills as well as showing he is not intimidated by threats nor sanctions.

Well they wouldn't have so many foes if they didn't attempt so much territorial conquest, assassination of defectors & opposition leaders, engaging in cyber war with the free world, propping up war criminals like Assad, interfering in the elections in democratic countries, shooting down passenger planes and threatening nuclear war every time things don't go their way!

They say a million workers died to build his 'Window on the West'. Russia gained what it could gain, so it's time now to retreat into 'Fortress Russia' to protect themselves from Europe's inevitable collapse.

Seems the only pure Russian there is Yeltsin. He's the only one whose height reflects his Viking and Slavic ethnicity. In a nation which always consisted of 'giants', seems the rest have some kind of a Napoleonic complex - including Medvedev.

It's amazing what intimidation and threats of violence can do for the election prospects of the dictator in charge. It's like people have a powerful urge to vote the status quo for their own safety!

Of course, Putin won. It is because of the threat from the US, NATO, and the rest of the Western countries. Russians know that without a strong leader Russia will be invaded or coaxed into war after war instigated by the Americans: Libya, Syria, Iran, Irak, Ukraine, etc. Russia is safe as long as Putin keeps the US at a distance and supports those countries that the US wants to invade, conquer, occupy and control. I am sure there are some bad things to say about Putin but he is the best man for the job. We have seen the treachery meted out by Washington time and time again. and Russia (it seems) is the only one to stop American treachery from taking over the whole world.

And true to form, those Russian thieves were embraced by their cronies in Washington and lauded, bribed and used as 'credible' witnesses against Russia. But then what's one to expect when we supported terrorists in Syria to topple the legitimate and secular government, and overthrew the elected government in Ukraine, and put in a junta of mafia thieves and Nazis.

I cry for my country which could have been a beacon to the world, and instead has become its scourge.

Nothing wrong with being a Christian nation. We were at one time, and were known then for our charity. Today we are known for our deceits and injustices.

No chance of Trump draining the swamp a bit more? Yes, I know the deep state is untouchable. So what can any president do? Play ball or die?
