Pyongyang Calls on Germany to Scrap Taurus Missile Deliveries to South Korea

North Korea calls on Germany to scrap the planned deliveries of Taurus air-to-ground cruise missiles to South Korea, the North Korean Embassy in Russia said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Reports emerged last week, citing military officials, indicating that Seoul was planning to deploy dozens of the German-made Taurus cruise missiles by the end of the year.


"If true, Germany's decision is an act that violates the peace and that ignores even its national legislation banning the export of weapons to regions of conflict, and that will strain the situation on the Korean peninsula more," the embassy said in a statement obtained by RIA Novosti.

The statement noted that the sale of German missiles to South Korea, "fraught with breaching peace on the Korean peninsula and in the region, should be discontinued immediately."

The german Taurus system is the most capable and powerful bunker buster system. It can be fired from a distance of 500km and flys towards the target at just 30m altitude.

It can penetrate a 4m thick bunker wall and from there can destroy multiple building floors. Its even programable at which level of the building it detonates.

The missile incorporates stealth characteristics and has an official range in excess of 500 kilometres (300 mi).[6] Taurus is powered by a turbofan engine at Mach 0.8~0.9 and can be carried by the Tornado, Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen, F/A-18 and the F-15K aircraft.

The double 500-kilogram (1,100 lb) warhead called Mephisto (Multi-Effect Penetrator, HIgh Sophisticated and Target Optimised) features a precharge and initial penetrating charge to clear soil or enter a bunker, then a variable delay fuze to control detonation of the main warhead. The missile weighs about 1,400 kg (3,100 lb) and has a maximum body diameter of 1 metre (3.3 ft). Intended targets are hardened bunkers, command, control and communications, airfield and port facilities, AMS/ammunition storage, ships in ports/at sea and bridges.

The missile also includes counter measures as a self-defence mechanism.

Mission planners program the missile with the target, air defence locations and planned ground path, then the missile uses a low terrain-hugging flight path guided by INS, IBN, TRN and GPS to the proximity of the target, although it is capable of navigating over long distances without GPS support.[7] Once there the missile commences a bunt (climb) manoeuvre to an altitude intended to achieve the best probability of target acquisition and penetration. During the cruise flight a high resolution thermographic camera (infrared homing) can support the navigation by using IBN and is also used for GPS-free target attack. The missile attempts to match a camera image with the planned 3D target model (DSMAC). If it cannot, it defaults to the other navigation systems, or, if there is a high risk of collateral damage, it will steer to a pre-designated crash point instead of risking an inaccurate attack with undesired consequences.

 

It is up to Germany to decide what it sells. In general, no country should rely on Germany for anything, even keeping contractual agreements. No big deal either way as Germany is not the only source of such weaponry.

If Germany does cancel, the lesson should be to never enter into any contract with Germany for anything, but rather contract with a reliable source that fulfills contractual agreements it enters into. Otherwise, you might wait months or years and end up with nothing but another broken German treaty, promise or contract.

That is one of the many lessons of WW2. Germany proactively made agreements with Russia, Britain and France, all of which were calculated lies and diversions. Never trust Germany about anything.

The best way to bully Germans into doing anything is to start throwing the "Nazi-card" at them! When you start screaming, "Nazis! Nazis!", they crap their pants, spin around, and RUN like sheep the other way as fast as they can go....

Because, even in a dumbed-down Western world, you still have a reasonably well-educated population! Because you know how to get things done, with your unique ability to make corporations, government, and labor unions work together for all Germany.

Before very much longer, you'll forge much closer economic ties with Russia. Later, when NATO falls completely apart, you will probably create military alliances with Russia, too. You will become the undisputed leader of all of Western Europe, and together with Russia, and in an extended cooperation, with China, the three of you will rule the entire Eastern Hemisphere.

Meanwhile, we in the U. S. will sink even deeper into the pile of sh*t we have been creating for ourselves ever since "9/11". Don't allow Germany to drown in the same river of sh*t that we stupid, "politically-correct" Americans are plunging ourselves into!
