Every so often my browser will ask me to leave the page I'm currently on after trying to submit a post. It takes me to the advanced post screen and when I hit submit there, I end up with a double post. Am I just retarded or are other people experiencing this?
You're retarded (this can't be a surprise to you) It happens to others. The leave page message happens to me when I hit "Post Quick Reply" specifically. I can't say I've registered what follows after that, as I'm usually hitting the netbook on the edge of the table. I haven't noticed creating any double posts though.

Double posting happens to me all the time. But do others have a problem with getting a post to open or to get a reply window to show up sometime in this decade? Talk about frustrating.
Yes. It has gotten worse over the past few days. In fact, I went to reply to your post and I got the "Server is busy" message. Personally, I think it is Viv's animated avatar that is slowing the server down...
Here is the answer. When it takes you to the Advanced screen, there is also a message up above saying you can only post once every 30 seconds. In other words, the system caught a double post already. If you hit post again, you will get the double post. Ignore the fact you are now on the advanced screen and go back to what you were browsing. The system already registered your original post.

When that happens open a second window and find the thread on which you made the post. By looking at the last item you will find it posted (or not in some cases) under your username which is the only time I have noticed my own name as the poster in a particular thread. You can then work with both windows open or close one if you prefer.
