Under the agreement, Ukraine and Russia agreed upon strategic partnership and cooperation, recognized the inviolability of their existing borders and territorial integrity, and rejected the use of force, external interference, and economic pressure.

“The termination of the Agreement … considering its continuous violation by Russian Federation … will allow Ukraine to protect its national interests in international relations properly and effectively,” says the bill’s explanatory note, which was signed by Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

LONG time in coming, given what has been going on. Next step: NATO.

This is a procedure that began months earlier. And it will take effect April 1 of next year, not this moment .

By cancelling the friendship treaty, means they are in a state of war - which is what Poroshenko needs to stay in power. He needed an excuse though - thus the provocation in the Azov. It didn't turn out the way he wanted it to, since the sailors were ordered to shoot so Russia would be forced to respond and he would have martyrs to show the world how barbarous Russia is.

Poroshenko has been calling Putin, but Putin said he will not be a party to his games to maintain power - but is that the real reason or is it an excuse? Frankly I think it has to do with the natural gas situation in Ukraine and Putin cannot and will not be blackmailed.

Oh, so now the sailors had been ordered to shoot? Why didn't they, then? Should I bother asking you to provide evidence?

The evidence will be presented in court. Why do you think they want the sailors released?

Come on now, Poroshenko sent his men to fight with two weeks training, and at Debaltshevo he told the officers to leave when they were being trapped in a cauldron but not to tell the men so they won't surrender and give their arms to the Donbas militia. Three thousand men died, and you're going to tell me he gives a damn about the sailors lives?

This is what he did to the people of Lugansk after they held a referendum to federalize and wanted to speak to him. The man's an animal.

I see your usual BS sources have been very busy concocting lies for you to swallow and regurgitate here. But of course.

Are you telling me that Poroshenko was willing to talk to the people of the Donbas and he didn't start killing them when they held a referendum to federalize? Then what's this? Warning its graphic, but what else can one expect from Nazis.

June 2, 2014 - Aftermath of Lugansk bombardment, 8 dead, 10 plus injured.

If the Rada was so concerned with Ukraine's national interests rather than their own pockets, they wouldn't have messed around with this. But as the saying goes; 'stupidity is as stupidity does':

You sure NATO wants to embrace troops that wear Nazi SS insignia posing with Poroshenko? (chest patch, trooper on far left in photo)

Eh, you could be right, though.

Nato does what Washington tells it to do, as does Poroshenko. We supported terrorists in Syria that were killing civilians because it benefited our geo political agenda, and we supported the Nazis in Ukraine for the same reason. As long as they hate and kill Russians - we're all for them.

No NATO. Ukraine has a dispute about the territories with Russia. This violates the conditions for joining NATO.
Bad move from Poroshenko&Co for Ukraine. But of course, this is very good for the US that has always tried to destabilize the situation around Russia.
