Scary thought, but it is one that is getting attention at some level in the US government. The combination of drones in Americas skies and US counterterrorism policy allowing for Americans abroad to be killed by drones has now lead to the thought of armed drones killing Americans in America.

Personally, I don't like the idea of drones being used in American skies, not for operational purposes. The temptation to arm said drones by the authorities, I believe, is there and would be satisfied. Like "enhanced interrogations," the potential for abuse is great. Just not a good idea.

They could take out a lot of domestic enemies. That might be a good thing.

Rand Paul like all tea party lunatics isn't interested in domestic spying nor in compromising national security ... he's only interested in libel & slander & impugning the characters of the Obama Admin ...

And he certainly isn't concerned about the safety and security of our people abroad ... and certainly no more concerned about Drone attacks abroad than Lapierre and winggunnuts are concerned about the execution of men, women, children and kindergartners here at home.

I have asked Mr. Brennan if he believed that the President has the power to authorize lethal force, such as a drone strike, against a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and my question remains unanswered. I will not allow a vote on this nomination until Mr. Brennan openly responds to the questions and concerns my colleagues and I share. ~ Rand Paul

Hes not talking about drone attacks abroad, hes talking about drone attacks in America, on Americans, and the obama administration refuses to answer.....

The UN should ban the use of armed drones.

The Patroit Act act under Bush was the greatest threat to civil liberties in modern American history. The Patriot Act under Barack Obama is pleasantly scented like the air after a Spring rain.

Drone warfare on US citizens by President Bush would have been an act of murder, and the media would have certainly called for impeachment. Drone warfare by Barack Obama on US citizens is like a mother tickling a baby after bath time. It is soooo beautiful.

You've got it. The republic's watchdog is now the gov't's guard dog. This is not good for a free people.

No, I haven't switched positions. The Left are the ones being hypocrites.

When Bush conspired with Saudis to create 9/11 as the Reichstag fire to invade Iraq (both to save his daddys legacy and eliminate the Saddam threat to Saudis .. (oil) .... ) ... domestic surveillance was merely part of the ploy to make it all seem legit ... and eventually create a permanent Republican Party ...

It would have worked too even if their were no WMD's in Iraq as well as the looting of the U.S. Treasury and catastophic deficits ...

It was the slaughter of our boys as Iraq becme a holocaust that destroyed (neo)-conservatism ... and essentially conservatism in general ...

That's why Drones are the way of warfare now ... cheap and effective and as long as terrorists are getting eliminated ... you have no problem with it .... right ?

The UN was broken the minute they allowed communist dictators and countries that harbor terrorists to become members.

That's the beauty of troofing and conspiracy theories ... especially that old neocon codger guy who used to run around claiming *Thier have been no terrorist attacks on American soil* ...

(he just forgets to say after 9/11) everytime though ...

Yeah right, RWers were lock step behind and supporting the Patriot Act and the NSA wiretapping. And then were behind the covert investigations of Muslims.

Now they have had an epiphany.

The order to bring home 34k troops has just started, and the current negotiated plan to close out the combat operations at the end of 2014 is in place.

What does all that have to do with the Patriot Act, are you still for it.
