More to the story of the Wuhan Virus is the fact that Cruise ships were coming in to and out of the Wuhan port daily. They were bring tourists, literally, by the boat load. Many became infected, and then got back on the cruise ships. Those infected passed the virus to their fellow shipmates. Then they went to other ports where they spread the virus there.

The fact is that China made every boneheaded move they could make. They hid the fact that the virus was spreading through Wuhan. They failed to shut down the airport and sea port. The first cases of the virus were hospitalized in November 2019. Yet China did not quarantine Wuhan until January 23, 2020. That was two months of ships coming in and out of port, and planes landing and taking off. The shutdown came two days before the Chinese Celebration of the Lunar New Year. It is estimated that more then 5 million citizens left prior to the shutdown.

On December 31, 2019, Dr. Li Wenliang told his collogues that they need to wear protective gear when treating someone with a SARS like virus. Four days later, the local police insisted that he sign a paper that said that he would be jailed if he continued to "making false comments on the Internet about unconfirmed SARS outbreak." On January 8, 2020, the Doctor contracted COVID-19, and died on February 6, 2020.

This pandemic is a result of Chinese Middle Kingdom Mentality. They believe that every one on Earth should bow to them because they are the longest existing culture. The last thing they want is to lose face to the world. They made numerous mistakes, told so many lies that no one can keep up with all them. It is time to hold them accountable. My suggestion is one that will unfortunately hurt our economy in the short run, but may help it in the long run. That is to place a very stiff tariffs on all goods coming from China. Also, hit them with sanctions. Yes, you can bet that they will try to call in the $1.17 Trillion that we owe them. But if all the other nations that China had hurt by their recklessness were to follow suit, then China would fold quickly. Then we can sit down, and negotiate a real trade agreement.

It's not a callable loan. We traded them paper for money. They can either wait for the notes to mature or sell the paper to someone else. And if they sell them too fast, it will drive down the value of the paper they still hold.

I don't think they will fold. I think they more likely will return to their pre-Kissinger hermit kingdom dominating only North Korea. They can't feed their current population or supply them with energy. I think if it took killing off millions of their own citizens to stave off revolution, they would kill them. Like I said, I always thought it came from the lab. The mere fact that the virus first emerged in the exact same area as a lab experimenting on coronaviruses should be enough to develop a VERY STRONG suspicion that the virus came from the lab. Combined with the fact that no known animal reservoir has been found in over a year, it's basically reached the point where all the best evidence is clearly pointing in that direction. Naturally, I always try to remain open-minded, unlike my pro-government opponents, so I am still willing to entertain the natural origin hypothesis, but the burden of proof has shifted squarely on to them now. If they cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the virus is truly natural in origin, then the social verdict should favor the lab leak hypothesis.

 

I was with you until you tried to pin it all on China. If the virus originated in one of the Wuhan labs or facilities, then the blood is also on the hands of the US officials who funded that research.

It is if those measures do far more harm than good, which virtually all COVID measures do, especially lockdowns, the largest public health disaster in human history, a policy which you enthusiastically have supported, a demonstrably failed policy which had zero real world evidence to support it, only garbage models cooked up by government-funded hacks.
