There’s literally gun education courses all over the country outside of schools. So that’s not the same thing.

 

The high school in my town does. Even has the state champ Skeet Shooting team there. So….

 

Guns never hurt anyone, since they are inanimate objects.

 

I didn't say they did now. I said it USED TO BE part of the standard PE curricula.

Many things used to be taught in schools which are not now taught, including a number of useful life skills. Now we teach useless horse ****, mostly.

 

We still teach sex ed dude. You can cite me approving of any abstinence only curricula, or you can shut your yap.

 

There might be a reason things like gun safety aren’t taught in schools…..

No, I'm saying that the OP is trying to turn them into political issues.

 

crt and gender studies are already political. numerous politicians have supported or opposed topics being taught in school. Even the teachers unions, which are very political, have strongly voiced their opinions.

 

So how is something NOT political? Everyone who supports or opposes a topic has political views...therefore, according to you, everyone who supports or opposes something is for political reasons.

Though I do think I’ll plays devils advocate here and point out skeet shooting as a hobby is a bit different than actually having guns for your own personal use.

 

LOL! I had a neighbor that shielded her 2 young boys from anything gun related. No cartoons with guns, and not even allowed to play with squirt guns.

When they saw my kids' toy guns, they grabbed them, aimed them at each other's faces and pulled the trigger, saying "bang, you're dead!" It looks like she created a sick lust.

 

That is a personal use.

Skeet shooting clubs on what I assume are on school grounds or at least school-sanctioned are personal use?

 

And does little to reduce gun deaths esp among young teens - there is a reason we don’t allow 12 year old kids to drive

 

Which has not shown to reduce firearm morbidity or mortality

I always keep my cap and ball revolvers with the hammer sitting on an empty chamber if the gun is loaded.

The hammer would be sitting right on top of the percussion cap with nothing to stop a discharge if something hits the hammer.

A local guy here a couple of years ago was carrying a loaded cap and ball revolver and dropped it and the gun discharged growing up through his crotch region and severed the artery that feeds both femoral arteries. Needless to say he did not last very long.

 

If only someone would have taught him basic gun safety at a younger age.

He paid severely for his ignorance.
