Real Unemployment Rate Hovers Around 17%-22%

Many of you here like to say that the media constantly lies but you are ready to believe the drivel that the unemployment rate is 10% or so. You all need to wake the hell up!

While most nations are returning to normal and using actual unemployment numbers instead of our phony U1-U7 system we are still trying to get people to not think masks are communist.

We are still banned from entering more nations than virtually any other nation on Earth. Over a quarter of all deaths with less than 4% of the population.

What percentage of those unemployment claims are partial filings (i.e. people whose hours are reduced but not eliminated)?

Self employed people cannot be considered 'unemployed'. They are the business. If they are currently without work, then they need to seek it, but self-employed people do not pay into unemployment, so they cannot collect it.

 

Obviously, what America did WRONG happened on Election Night in 2016.

And, America has been paying for that Egregious Mistake ever since.

Obviously, Trump's Horrible Mishandling of the Covid Crisis will end costing hundreds of thousands of lives.

(Deaths that were preventable, but for Trump's FAILED Leadership).



It is hard to imagine that Trump could actually get re-elected in this environment.

Especially, since he is 100% responsible for the economic collapse (and record unemployment).

The "real" unemployment number is always a lot larger than the official unemployment number. That is because of the methodology they use in establishing the official rate.

I recall seeing some poll or survey a year ago that included that a lot of the unofficial unemployed couldn't work anyway because they either have health issues or are helping to take care of people with health issues.

 

Even those folks should be counted if we really want to know the actual UE rate. There are also those folks whose unemployment benefits ran out and they are still without a job yet they are not counted as being unemployed.

 

How would you capture a number if you have no way to know? I mean we can do estimates or models, but how would you be able to know I am unemployed if I am not getting a check or registered looking for a job? That has always been the problem putting a number on the others.

 

The official U6 from the federal government is 16.5%

That was offtopic I simply replied to it... Now run along. But before you do why are you going to vote for Biden who wants stricter lockdowns which will lead to more unemployment?

 

Not bad considering that many unemployed are making more money staying at home. When this ends, you will see more people seeking employment. When people stay home and sleep, can they still be "woke"?

It isn’t on topic, the unemployment and bans from other nations are a subsequent result from our absolute failure to address this as a unified nation with component leadership — which we have neither.

I am not voting for Biden so I have no idea what you are referring to, but you have no way of knowing his response will lead to more unemployment, or worse — longer term unemployment. I would argue it would be better to have major unemployment for several weeks than moderate unemployment for several months or a year(s).

 

Doesn't mean they haven't lost all their wages just because they can't file unemployment. It does mean they are no
longer contributing to the tax base or the consumer base as they were before the virus.

 

How are they counting the people that are getting paid by work even though they are not working. The ones where the businesses get paid not to lay them off.

 

According to the IRS 31.8 Million are currently receiving unemployment compensation that would be at least 20 percent of workers prior to the Corona virus.

 

you are avoiding acknowledging how impossible that would be by claiming "computers" can do it. They do what they are programmed to do and you have yet to even offer a reasonable metric of what data would they be looking for to know who is not employed.
