So where were all the riots in the streets, beatings of the political opposition, angry protestors saying blood will be spilled etc. from "the right" when Obama was elected? Where is the outcry from the media over this violence when a policeman shoots an armed man with a record and it makes negative headlines around the globe? Where are the leaders of the left asking for calm, sensibility, mutual respect and cooperation? When the white Trump voter was being beaten by four people of color (not sure which), where was the hate crime tag? The last two days of increasingly violent protests are a direct indicator of why our 2nd amendment is possibly the most precious of them all. Without it, all men are subject to whatever mob chooses to coagulate. They will play by their rules as long as they suit them, until they don't....then they band together like packs of animals and the rules no longer matter. They preach of their tolerance....their acceptance of all men....our hate...our uncivilized thinking. As long as you are on their side, agree with them, and things are going their way you are safe. The duplicitousness of their mantras are simply mind boggling. Stay ever vigilant in the protection of our Constitution, stack your "tools" high and deep, fervently train in their use, you will be deeply consoled that you did if/when that crowd comes down your street. I for one will not go looking for trouble, but if it finds me, it will find it very difficult, and very, very costly to impose it's will.
I would add one more question, why were the people standing around that poor guy getting trashed in Chicago and did nothing to help? Those people disgust me.
I'm with you on that one. I think one explanation is where it happened.....Chicago.....and what are their concealed carry laws?
Concealed Carry in Chicago is very expensive, However, I an sure it is not completely impossible, you only need to budget it as concealed carry is too important,if you want to live.
This whole thing about riots is ironic. I mean these are the same people who are against guns (which to them are dangerous and violent). And they think they will pull off a successful violent revolution without guns? I obviously don't advocate violence but playing devil's advocate for a second if your going to pull this off then how? You made enemies with three major groups who would otherwise might help you. The military, the police, and republicans. All three own guns and you're against all of them.
Actually, I was shocked to find out it is only $150 for five years and not as difficult or complicated to get as NYC.
Illinois requires 16 hours of training. An honorable discharge can count for 8 hours. After that is a state police and local police check and a $150 fee for five years. The last numbers I saw indicated that there are something like approaching 200,000 permits granted to date, with16,000 or so in Cook county. All in all, not much for a state this size. That guy that was assaulted might be thinking about getting a permit about now if he's going to live in that area. Where I live is more like an area of calm in the land of idiots, but if I were ever confronted by a similar group, you would be seeing me in the news if they did not, immediately, understand what S&W means.
I would want a Carbine AR in 300 Blackout, with a Laser and an optical sight and lots O'loaded magazines !
