Meade’s viewpoint is nonsense based on bad astronomy and inept Bible interpretation.

Christian fundamentalists only seem willing to accept science when and if it fits their narrative.

Yet the planet he claims exist is now being accepted as a distinct possibility by science.

I'm not sure Meade has commented on the NASA link one way or the other.

Well, if the end of the world is in seven days you can have the last laugh, OK?

I can accepting the probable existence of planet 9 without accepting the end of the world prophecies associated with it. Apparently you cannot.

Um... Neptune is like 4.7 billion km from the Sun, whereas Alpha Centauri is 42 trillion km away. That's a lot of space!

I can accept there might be more stuff out there - with no observable evidence - than a mere Planet X. Thanks.

Time will tell. These guys see evidence and NASA is giving them credence.

From the link in the OP you obviously didn't read.
"In January 2015, Caltech astronomers Konstantin Batygin and Mike Brown announced new researchthat provides evidence of a giant planet tracing an unusual, elongated orbit in the outer solar system. The prediction is based on detailed mathematical modeling and computer simulations, not direct observation.

    Brown (left) and Batygin (right)
This large object could explain the unique orbits of at least five smaller objects discovered in the distant Kuiper Belt."

"The possibility of a new planet is certainly an exciting one for me as a planetary scientist and for all of us," said Jim Green, director of NASA's Planetary Science Division. "This is not, however, the detection or discovery of a new planet. It's too early to say with certainty there's a so-called Planet X. What we're seeing is an early prediction based on modeling from limited observations. It's the start of a process that could lead to an exciting result."

    Have you heard of Sitchens?

    What if he did?
Meade's "prophecy" is a recycling of Zecharia Sitchin's bs;they're both cranks.

If you had heard of Sitchens, you wouldn't be promoting David Meade's crap.

Now I have. Interesting, thank you. Apparently he was talking about this planet too. It gets curioser and curiouser

You didn't post all of it. The link didn't work at first. And given you do not use the terminology correctly (maybe on some religious grounds, I don't know) I understood better than you.

    Thanks.

I understand it to mean exactly what it said, these two scientist discovered evidence leading them to believe a very large planet orbits the sun out of our sight. How did you understand it?

Two scientists (and others) have discovered data that indicates the possibility of a large planet in orbit beyond Pluto. An indication of possibility is extremely far from that which you claim and indicates a level of scientific understanding inadequate for serious discussion. I had decided to dismiss you because of this and your obvious inability to grasp the limitations of your knowledge, but have come to conclude it is more a matter of intellect than ignorance and decided to point this out to those wasting time on you.

Gentlemen, we are dealing with true ineptitude here and further interaction should be considered mere entertainment and attempts at education completely futile.

It's far more likely you cherry picked from the NASA site and used scientific terminology incorrectly to advance some religious/supernatural agenda.

This was from your first link: Christians claim that the arrival of the planet will mark the apocalypse and could herald Jesus’ return, while other conspiracy theorists believe that it is a rogue planet which has yet to be detected by space officials – or has but they are covering it up to prevent widespread panic. The mysterious object, otherwise known as Planet X, is allegedly due to enter the solar system in September 23 and will wreak havoc on our galactic neighbourhood. Paranormal researchers believe Planet X is so large it would be able to counter the sun’s gravitational pull. It is believed that it is difficult to spot due to the angle in which the huge mass is approaching Earth – towards the South Pole.

    Astronomers were discussing the possibility of planets in the outer reaches of our solar system as early as the 1840's;
minus any help from the likes of Meade or Miss Cleo.

How about admitting that a planet long theorized by scientists who were laughed at is now accepted and all but proven?

Very true but not an enormous planet so far away that it takes thousands of years to make one orbit around the sun. This is fascinating stuff to me and not scary like it seems to be to so many in hete.

I'll go for that at least in part. Not sure they theorized a planet that meets these specifications though. If you have information on that I'd be interested.

I was paraphrasing his comments as a means of making my point on the pointlessness of trying to legitimize a doomsday prediction simply based on the fact that something that has been said by the zealots has a small basis of fact.

In this case, the doomsayers have been going on about a planet that will cross paths with Earth and cause chaos and carnage and devastation for years and now that there is the possibility of another trans-Neptunian out beyond the Kyper Belt...it means that their prophesy is validated and that we should put in our bar orders for Last Call.

Even if there is no possible way for this object to come anywhere near us.

It would be rather like me making a prediction of the end of the world that would be caused by a supermassive volcano erupting in Yellowstone and then going "See! See! This is a precursor event that proves me right!" when Kīlauea has a little hiccup and burps up a lava blob 2 meters higher than normal.
