I didn’t watch the speech, but I did watch the analysis on MSNBC. The speech must have been a loser because they only talked about Trump and the Republicans. I didn’t see them talk about the speech at all. .

 

The best part of the SOTU was Sarah Huckabee's speech afterwards. FANTASTIC!

Well I don't know if that is a bigger knock on MSNBC, or your guessing skills, but you were completely wrong: the speech was definitely a winner. There is not even a credible, differing perspective, as far as that goes. And the analysis I overheard on MSNBC, certainly did talk about the speech, so-- did you only watch two minutes' worth of it? And that is your idea of a basis, for an intelligent opinion, on a speech that ran something like an hour and twenty minutes?

That explains a lot.

 

What was so "fantastic," about it? I found it vacuous-- what did I miss?

It must be hard to remain objective when one is so party Biased.

But the plus side of that heckling is that Biden "handled" them with aplomb.,,,and dignity..........They have no regard for decorum......which is essential in in these situations. The WORLD was watching.......... and constantly assessing the "state" of this nation. Will it be a bully. (behaving like a testosterone overdosed entity) .........or an intelligent , progressive and dynamic place that has credibility

Anyone obsessing about Bidens age......should not. Trump is aging........and not anywhere near as gracefully.

And if folks cannot see his accomplishments ............they are not looking or don't want to.

He does not brag about every thing. (over and over again.....like a broken record)........the way the drama King does.....and nor should he. His actions are speaking for themselves. Just because he does not sensationalize everything........... does not mean he has not been very productive.

Meanwhile, the GOP crazies staging a childish homage to the January 6 Trump goon attack on Congress served as effective props for the President. His manipulating them into vociferously rejecting Republican Rick Scott's proposal to sunset Medicare was deft, indeed.

At last, in 2023, came a new twist on the old ritual. This time, it was ordinary Republicans putting the spotlight on themselves — through extraordinary rudeness. With boos, taunts, groans, and sarcastic chortles, the opposition party effectively turned themselves into prime-time props for President Joseph Biden.

Obviously you don't. A motivational speaker stands up and tells people how good they are and to be positive- but he doesn't really fix problems. His customers go home pumped up, but the momentum of that doesn't last because it was BS. I know how that industry works, and I've never done that. Damn right- I have not just a clue, more like a cat-scan picture. You have to choose to ignore the lies when they are on this scale.

My primary work is manufacturing and investing; the business of training people has been more of a sharing of skills I'm fortunate enough to have mastered that are desperately needed by many- and I've dome far more of that free than I've charged for. I train people in particular personal skills- and I tell them right up front that while I can show them how to make changes, that it's hard work that is up to them. I tell them they have to start where they are at, not lie to themselves about where that is. Big difference- that is truth, not a BS snow job. It's hard, but it also works., but many just lack the courage to deal with the challenge. People want easy answers, and the easiest is to sell are lies that help them ignore truth. That is what is known as a "snow job". JOE was doing the BS snow job- pumping the endless facade of well-being. That's blatant dishonesty, an insult to the people- and proof of the total lack of respect for the people he supposed to serve. The gullible people buy that, the people who are savvy know better.

Do you appreciate being lied to? Is your moral strength so weak you prefer comfortable likes over uncomfortable truth? If those fit you, Joe just filled your plate.

The American people deserve straight talk and truth from their leaders, not BS and a bubble machine. Problems like this nation faces today don't just blow over, they have to be faced and addressed with honest core solutions. Joe has had problems all along with forming logical sentences and linear thinking, besides the incompetence proven by the record, that everything he's done comes our poorly. This was a snow job on the scale of a lake-effect New York blizzard, not a representation of the true state of the nation. Nothing more than another load of BS, but gold-plated garnished, like putting lipstick and eye shadow on the pig. And I don't believe Joe capable of delivering it so well if he wasn't high on something. I do know people well enough to say that the weaker your are, the more eager you will be to buy this crap so you won't have to face the realities- the less you are capable of handling the truth. The left owns Joe, and plans on owning you- and everybody else.

The Republicans and the Right are, clearly, not interested in truth, straight talk or problem solving. Their entire agenda, as demonstrated by the three ring circus it took to elect a Speaker, is focused on staying in power and imposing their minority agenda on the majority. They will crawl on their bellies in the swamp lapping up the leavings of others for political power, as demonstrated by their refusal to hold the Orange Stain accountable for any of his criminal actions( like extorting the government of the Ukraine to help him during a political campaign, which he subsequently lost but tried to install himself as president through fraudulent and even violent means).

I could go on as there is no lack of examples I could cite, but I have to go makes campaign contributions to the DNC and the committee to re-elect the President.
