The principle disappointment was George Santos (aka Anthony Devolder, aka Kitara) not being accorded enough time on camera.

His center-aisle seat was opportune to feature the GOP's latest enfant terrible rather than indulging the lurid fascination with Taylor-Greene's Tourette syndrome.

Sanders was an interesting choice. Anyone who thinks that Republicans want to move past Trump with their party were shot down last night.

I didn't watch the speech, but I saw the video of Biden baiting the GOPers into booing when he claimed they wanted to sunset Medicare and SS. So, now it is all on tape. The GOP does not want to tamper with entitlements, and they call Biden a liar if he suggests they do. Will be interesting how some GOPers will have to twist themselves into a pretzel to explain this to donors, and their fiscal hawk voters on the campaign trail.

Also, it was priceless seeing McCarty trying to shut up the extremist hecklers in this party.

    How’s that crow meat today?

"The implication is that they are not the stuff of fast food restaurant employees. Others have, in turn, pointed to news reports from as far back as September 2021 regarding fast food workers having to sign non-compete agreements.

One said they have “never heard anyone have to sign a non-compete to flip burgers at Burger King”; another pointed them to a report from September 2022 of a federal appeals court reviving a potential class action against Burger King over its prior use of a “no-hire” clause that “blocked all franchisees from hiring each other’s employees
    .”

Well, if you can’t find any objection of substance you can always try a personal attack on how a person looks or acts or walks or sits.

It was like watching a first-time, ill-equipped, substitute teacher being assigned the class of incorrigibles.

I saw this in another post. I have to give trump props for actually saying it.
Of course, he once again leaves his maga followers twisting in the wind, but that’s even better.

Yes... Republican priorities... unity, patriotism, leadership, eliminating left wing indoctrination in schools, lowering taxes, punishing criminals, securing the border, preventing fentanyl deaths... sounds good.

So a total absence of priorities and an abundance of delusion.

Republicans reveal how classless they are when they continue to interrupt a speech. I think it's the result of bad parenting.

Fatal overdoses were at a record high in 2019. Not Biden's fault. Trump was in charge of the border. And lowering taxes for whom?

Trump won 74,222,958 votes, or 46.8 percent of the votes cast.

    ^^ MAGA Republicans

One of the most divisive speeches ever given by a US president.

Why are you counting people that can't vote?

Biden got 81 million.... of the votes placed, they are both rounded to approximately half.

Don't play semantics because your dear leader said something stupid.

How convenient to state a lie and then say he won't allow it.

    Medicare and Social Security
Republicans in Congress booed the president when he suggested that some among them would “sunset” Medicare and Social Security — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene shouted “liar.”

“Some of my Republican friends want to take the economy hostage — I get it — unless I agree to their economic plans,” Biden said. “All of you at home should know what those plans are. Instead of making the wealthy pay their fair share, some Republicans, some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset. I’m not saying it’s the majority. Anybody who doubts it, contact my office. I’ll give you a copy of the proposal.”

We did. His office referred us to a news story that mentioned a proposal from Sen. Rick Scott that would have required all federal legislation to be subject to renewal every five years. Both Medicare and Social Security were created by legislation.

As we’ve written before, Scott didn’t specifically mention Medicare or Social Security in his proposal, but he did acknowledge that they would be included — although he said his aim was to “fix” the programs.

Scott — of Florida, who was chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee — said in a March 27 interview on Fox News, “No one that I know of wants to sunset Medicare or Social Security, but what we’re doing is we don’t even talk about it.”

And, at a press conference on March 1, Scott stood behind Sen. Mitch McConnell as he said, “We will not have as part of our agenda a bill that raises taxes on half of the American people and sunsets Social Security and Medicare within five years. That will not be part of a Republican Senate majority agenda.”

So, it’s a stretch to claim that there was anything close to significant support for ending the programs among Republicans — not even the proposal’s author supported ending them.

Now what did he propose to reform Social Security and why didn't he do so when he was in Congress and then in the White House?

Bingo! And Huckabees ridiculous speech made me grin from ear to ear knowing that the GOP is still all in on traitorous Trump.

Last night was such a yuge winner for the Dems between the maga dipshits yelling in the audience while Ole Joe just grinned at them as they easily fell into his trap. LOL Then Sarah with her Trump hero worshipping speech afterwards. I hope she cleaned her knees after the cameras cut off. LOL

You say it’s a lie but you also mention the Scott proposal to require legislation including Social Security and Medicare be considered as to whether they should continue every 5 years. In addition to that, there are serious proposals for other kinds of cuts including raising the retirement age to 70.

Sounds like denials are “weasel words”.

Biden has been forgetting name , places , dates and next line last 40 years, YET 81 million people voted for Biden. You know why ? because republican doesn’t have any thing to offer which is worth considering.

I know, I know 71 million Americans thinks Trump, DeSantis, Halley, Cruz or any Republican better then Biden or any other Democrat or liberal. That’s fine, it’s a free country, they can think and vote anyone they like. But unless 71 million can add another 10-12 million people to vote with them and making it 270 electoral collage, no one give a S$$$ if any GOP leader can speak in full sentence or not!

Since 2016 election, republicans has been loosing election every single time. And I don’t see any future where 10-12 million will join to vote with existing 71 million republican!

So, what is not true about what Biden said? We all know the following:

-Republicans want to cut spending, to balance the budget. That's impossible without cutting entitlements.
-Republicans have called those programs "entitlements" for a long time, as a derogatory term for programs that supposedly give people unearned benefits.
-GWB tried to privatize SS. it is a long-standing dream of the GOP to privatize entitlement programs. Of course, we all know who would benefit from privatization....
-Scott's plan is to sunset the programs every five years, unless they are renewed. We all know how well the GOP does with renewing programs when a Dem is in the WH -- they hold the country hostage.

Now, Republicans, unlike Scott, don't usually say it out loud, because their base voters are mostly on SS and Medicare. However, they'd like nothing more than to "reform" those programs, where "reform" is good-sounding a code word for privatization and cutting.

Of course, Biden did great in baiting the Congress GOPers into agreeing with him that those programs are off the table for debt ceiling negotiations. Now these GOPers have to live with themselves being on video agreeing with Biden. That won't sit well with their rich donors.
