I didn't hear that... last I heard, the 3 countries in this bracket just weren't going to play in Russia.

I think FIFA is going to have a VERY interesting decision to make here... Personally, I think Russia should be out, Poland gets a bye, then faces the winner of Sweden/Czech R.

I mean, could anybody imagine the backlash if Russia pulled a huge long shot and WON the WC in the same year they invaded a neighbor??? Not a good look...

EDIT - Nevermind - Problem solved...

https://www.politico.eu/article/fif..., FIFA,before the final qualification matches.

I'm not picking up what you are putting down!? What does our exports of oil have to do with the US funding Putin's war machine through continued purchasing of Russian oil? We have literally tripled our purchasing of Russian oil since Biden has taken office when at first sign of this invasion, should have stopped cold the funding of Russian wealth.

I don't normally do this, but I'm going to put you on my PF.com ignore list. Generally, I only put people on my list (you are the #6 entry) if they engage in personal attacks. You don't do that as a rule, but your constant misinformation posting has just reached a level too high to waste my time on. So I won't.

I guess I'm getting caught up in the excitement of the world putting Russia on the Ignore list... Happy posting.

Good riddance and you still do not see the issue with the US continuing to buy Russian oil. We are giving Putin BILLIONS of dollars to continue to fund his war yet you get petting of a freaking numeric rift. I said triple, yet it nearly double from 2019 to 2021 and that is a reality.

    https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCRIM_NUS-NRS_1&f=M

And you still haven't addressed the issue to WHY we are still buying oil from Russia when we have the means to fill the shortfall here locally. Maybe one of your brethren will answer since I've been so graciously added to your ignore list.

Only a complete moron would justify Biden's energy policy at this time. It hurts Americans and Europeans and helps Putin but democrats want us hot war with Russia to prove how tough they are.

So, Trump imported nearly twice as much Russian oil in Dec 2019 than Biden did in Dec 2021......interesting, but not surprising.

US gets 3% of our oil from Russia, so its nearly irrelevant

How much is 3% to the Russian government? It's literally billions annually! It should be 0%, do you not agree?

Sure, that is still a card we can play, but you don't want to play all your cards at once. International oil companies are pulling out already and that is a good start, and will hurt them more than our 3%.

And you also provided an inaccurate assumption → https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCRIM_NUS-NRS_1&f=M

Oil imports from Russian in 2021 were near double that of imports from Russia in 2019.

And I'm not sure Ukraine agrees with your strategy!

Trump pretty much doubled imports from Russia in 2019, and that was a year when Putin amassed 120K troops on Ukrainian border. Biden cut Russian imports by almost 50% in 2021.

My strategy? Only a fool plays all cards at once, and gives up all future leverage.

Apparently didn't click the link I see.

    2019 3,989 2,406 2,917 5,464 5,881 5,779 1,660 5,334 3,385 4,792 2,125 5,242
    2021 3,149 1,555 6,100 5,467 8,598 8,466 8,748 9,636 6,254 6,383 5,460 2,792

Russia's economy is primarily energy. Hitting them with the largest export is not a fools play, but a sound strategy.

Your numbers represent only crude, but even they show how Russian imports were ramped up in 2019 and then cut back in 2021.

I'm only going to respond to this one since it is the only one on-topic. But even you know this is complete bull ****. You're just back to your "It's our fault for not surrendering to his every demand" excuses.

There was a 48.25% increasing in imports in 2021 over 2019. You literally just showed the data!

Total annual in 2019 was 48,974 and in 2021 total annual was 72,608.

Again, Russia economy is primarily driven from energy. We should be hitting them were it hurts the most which is the energy sector... Yet.. we are ignoring this simple fact.

It's just another example of the racism and bigotry that tends to be a feature of many Democrat's psyches.
