…During a House committee meeting on Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Tlaib (D-Mich.) called upon any individuals who bank with JPMorgan Chase to close their accounts and effectively default on their loans after she failed to elicit a promise from CEO Jamie Dimon and the heads of five other major banks to divest from fossil fuels.

Tlaib threw her wrong-headed gauntlet down (remotely, of course) as the House Committee on Oversight and Reform proceeded in a matter not to her liking. She sought to remind the CEOs of such banks as Citigroup and Bank of America that they made a verbal commitment to fight climate change and reach net zero emissions by 2050.

“You have all committed, as you all know, to transition the emissions from lending and investment activities to align with pathways to net-zero in 2050… So no new fossil fuel production, starting today, so that’s like zero. I would like to ask all of you and go down the list, cause again, you all have agreed to doing this. Please answer with a simple yes or no, does your bank have a policy against funding new oil and gas products, Mr. Diamond?” Tlaib asked.

For his part, Dimon seemed to answer her without equivocation.

“Absolutely not, and that would be the road to hell for America,” he said.

Dimon’s response sent the Michigan Democrat into a frenzy of conflations and non-sequiturs…

The sheer entertainment value of secular progressive stupidity on open display. Just wow! Simply amazing the degree of self importance and demagoguery on display. The squad gets it all wrong again.

Dimon got this one exactly right. The green new deal is America’s economic highway to hell.

One of the democrat committee members must have been absent for whatever reason and invited her to be there in the place of him or her.

Time to consider buying some shares of his bank. Strive needs to start a financial industries ETF to pressure all of them through shareholder meetings to act like his answer strongly suggested.

This is stupid of Rep Talib or any other representative, Democrat or Republican, to not support a business because of their own business decsision. And yes, I do mean Disney or any other business for that matter.

JP Morgan Chase is a good bank and has good benefits for those who have accounts with them, wither personal checking/savings, business checking/savings, mortgate, or even one of their credit cards. But it's a business and that business can choose to support or loan money to whatever cashcow they choose as long as the banks follow the rules.

That’s not how Wokeism or cancel culture works. Tlaib is simply expressing current secular progressive ideology as advanced by the squad and the progressive wing of the party. I actually agree with you about how it should be.

She and her ilk in the financials are why I got rid of all my Black Rock and Vanguard energy sector and S$P 500 ETF’s and switched to their Strive counterparts. I don’t want them controlling my shares at board and shareholder meetings as if Tlaib and AOC were there

The shear GALL of this woman, that she believe SHE should be able to dictate to all the investors in this private company into what they are allowed to invest. And then to speak to these HIGHLY successful people in the tone and manner she did. They are US citizens to SHE works for US. She's never done ANYTHING in her life after her unremarkable education other than server in government spending taxpayer money and trying to dictate to everyone how we should live.

I question the IQ of her voters more than that of she herself. She couldn’t be sitting in judgement there without them.

Actually that is. Conservatives have called for boycotts of Disney because they include LGBTQ in their staff, among other things. You have conservatives boycotting Cracker Barrell because the restaurant offered to have plant based bacon as part of its menu. You have liberal who want to boycott JP Morgan Chase because it won't defund its loan agreements with fossil fuel companies like ExxonMobile. Both groups are wrong and are the ones who are putting businesses at risk no matter what their cause is.

    she isn't "dictating" anything.

jp morgan, like the other wall street banks, could not exist without the support (in $Bs) of the american people and the liquidity afforded by the federal reserve.

She's an American Hating Idiot who cannot pronounce 'celcius'. Good for the CEO to plainly and publicly rebuke her insane stupidity.

Registered Dems Sick of the Radical Left Are Switching Sides

    EXHAUSTED BY DEMOCRAT INSANITY

'“The reason I registered as a Republican has more to do with the Democrats than it does with Republicans,” said Roth, a single Staten Islander who teaches English as a second language. “I still consider myself liberal in a lot of ways, but I’m no longer a registered Democrat. They’ve just really gone off the rails for the past several years.”'

'As he’s watched the left wage cancel-culture wars and push for extreme political correctness, Roth said the Democrats have turned their backs on the issues that matter most to him.'

“My top priorities right now are actually kitchen-table issues — inflation, the price of housing, food and gas. As a voter I really care about things that affect my life personally and the lives of my family members more than any of this culture war stuff.”

She was trying to use her bully pulpit to do exactly that demanding to know if they had done it yet OR ELSE.

They are required to be a part of that federal reserve system and having to do so does not grant this idiot member of Congress a seat on their board overseeing the private capital of the private citizens.

She's both mean, hateful, demanding and stupid. Good for JP Morgan to plainly call out her idiocy.

Hopefully this is the beginning of shareholder and boardroom resistance to the woke and their cancel culture.
