Russia is grateful for the sanctions. It gave 'brilliant' Putin a chance to counter sanction and develop Russia's agriculture and industries to become more self sufficient in case of war, as well as lose their dependency on oil and gas exports, something they couldn't do before because of the competition. They are now the largest grain exporter in the world, beating out the US and Canada.

The sanctions destroyed the weaker economies in the EU which is facilitating its break up. I give them no more than a two year survival rate.

i think i must update you:

"A Soviet soldier heroically waves the red flag, the hammer and sickle billow above the Reichstag. Yevgeny Khaldei photographed one of the iconic images of the 20th century. But the legendary image was manipulated to conceal the fact that the Soviet soldiers on the roof had been looting. An exhibition of Khaldei's work opens in Berlin this week.

After the war Khaldei became the victim of anti-Semitism in Stalin's totalitarian empire and fell into oblivion. It was only in 1991 that the Berlin artist Ernst Volland came across these photographs by chance in Moscow and decided to publish them in a book."

We all lost some, all got hurt. Time passed. Age changed. Our human duty - is to learn to coexist, and live in peace - peace, that our ancestors hoped and dreamed for. Picking new fights and making mutual insults will not do any good. Will not right any wrongs. Will not serve the dream that people had - and that we are lucky to live in. Our duty to make this dream flourish, not shiver and die.

Be patient, and learn to understand others. We all sometimes loose our control and have our temper driving us to saying worse things. And such moments should be treated with forgiveness and patience, and be rather a sing to try understanding people who we talk to better, rather than trying to antagonise them. It is our common world.

The only irony is lame Hitler analogies.

Consider the West's destruction of middle class existence in Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc. has
been more Hitleresque than anything Putin has done.
An they don't get no Marshall Plan either.

By the way that is not an Orthodox priest, it is a Byzantine Catholic priest probably from Galatia Ukraine. Here is something about the German Lebensraum (living space) from wikipedia:

Following Adolf Hitler's rise to power Lebensraum became an ideological principle of Nazism, and provided justification for the German territorial expansion into East-Central Europe. The Nazi Generalplan Ost policy (the Master Plan for the East) was based on its tenets. It stipulated that most of the indigenous populations of Eastern Europe would have to be removed permanently (either through mass deportation to Siberia, death, or enslavement) including Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, and other Slavic nations considered racially inferior and non-Aryan.

The Third Reich aimed at repopulating these lands with Germanic colonists in the name of Lebensraum during World War II and thereafter. The entire populations were to be decimated by starvation, allowing for their own agricultural surplus to feed Germany.
The Russians and Ukrainians were not the only ones whose food was sent to Germany. In Greece 800,000 people starved to death. Reparations were never made for them or for the two towns that were decimated. Yet until recently, and the inhumane policies of Merkel, I never heard anyone criticize the Germans.

    Here's some reality from Washingtonsblog:

People around the world view the US as the greatest threat to peace; voted three times more dangerous than any other country. The data confirm this conclusion:

Only those living in Nazilands greeted the Germans with flowers. No one else.
Although the Crimeans did greet the Russians with flowers when they came to save them.

I'm leaning evermore towards the conclusion that yes, WW2 ended, with much the same seed sowing for the next global conflict as WW1.

Instead of not just eliminating Germany completely, or imposing less harsh terms in the Treaty of Versailles, hatred, mistrust, hopelessness, death, depravity, and suffering was fostered, resulting in Adolf.

What was also well known by the US, & UK, was the evil These Soviets were, & that if not dealt with much like what should have happened with Germany, (from the destruction POV) should also have applied to Russia, & Communism in general.

Believe me, war, no war, I'm not "worried".

I mean everybody gotta die some time.

I don't get hysterical about much, certainly not this, considering.

Sigh. I don't know if your open to the suggestion but what you should do is gain a bit of perspective. We Americans have just dozens of movies depicting all kinds of WW2 German butt kicking. So why so upset over the very much really damaged Russians making a reenactment of a not often victory?

You need some perspective. If you are any indication of what Germanys next generation of great thinkers are and can be so gravely insulted over something so trivial I'm troubled indeed. OK let's go a straight numbers thing..

WW2 losses. Real people. Dead :

    Germany - population approx 70mill lost 2mill

    Russia-population approx 175 mill lost 25mill

People sir. That's people that died. 25..million. Just one country Germany killed

So your proud of your country.. and its 2000 year history... and your grandpa's shovel, but as a German.. you can't let the Russians do a reenactment that is totally harmless bringing to light a few of their heroes? Look at the pictures everyone is smiling and dressed colorful.

Again I'll ask you to consider gaining some perspective

Oh and um Litwin? The OP? Is a 100% anti Russian propagandist. It's true. All day long.. Everyday.. Posts about nothing else. Sorry his thread got you upset. Be the bigger person.
