I support setting up voter registration tables ANYWHERE that the property owner allows. Movie theaters around here do it, so I don't see any reason not to do it as a gas station, but I doubt it is the first time this has happened.

Also, when will righties learn the difference between voting and voter registration? Seems like a perennial misunderstanding they have.

Relax, President Obama got rid of that. Cubans no longer get automatic green cards.

There have been a few state level changes that might limit the damage of that, but it's still there. I just don't think it will have much impact on House races. Could be trouble for the Senate races however.

    That's easy:

    Gas Prices
    Inflation
Out of control Wokism. That is scaring away a lot of pretty faithful Democratic voters.

Lot of people, especially elderly have been duped into changing party affiliation (from "D" to "R") in Florida. I don't get the point of such tactics, but its happening... A LOT.

South Florida seniors alarmed after political party was unknowingly changed to Republican
    https://www.local10.com/news/local/...-party-was-unknowingly-changed-to-republican/
MIAMI – Despite the security at Haley Sofge Towers, a Miami-Dade public housing building, people with clipboards and Republican Party of Florida caps were in the hallways, door knocking.

It made registered NPA Armando Selva suspicious.

“They said, “We’re doing the renewals on the voter registration, would you like to renew?” Selva recalled.

Resident Juan Carlos Salazar was not suspicious at the time.

“I didn’t do anything, but they changed the party,” Salazar said, adding he noticed, “when they sent me the new registration.”

He wasn’t the only elderly resident at the public housing to come forward and say the same thing happened to them.

The realizations came after a Local 10 News report in December about an 84-year-old lifelong Miami Democrat who was shocked to receive a new, changed voter identification card.

Yes, well, the demographics are shifting in Florida as the last batch of retired liberal democrats dies off from old age. So, then the Republicans moved in because there are probably new/recent vacancies and lower prices to get anyone in there.

Don't get cocky by the way, the demographics will shift again in Florida due to the eventual old age which will kick the bucket of people who retire in Florida. As the pendulum swings one way, eventually it reaches its momentum and starts swinging the other way.

However, I will concede that the Democrats are losing big time, and they deserve it.

Cuban Hispanics in Florida disagree with you.

Cuban Hispanics are making up for part of the shift.

In a way Trump deserved to lose because of his poor debates. I felt he would have done better if he was more reserved. He could have won 2020 if he had presented himself better.

I do agree the Democrats deserve to lose. They do nothing for us and have really screwed up America. Eventually it will shift back to the Democrats but that will be years down the road when they realize they actually have to care about America and Americans and fight for the vote. Also if the Republicans have power to long they will eventually get to relaxed and lazy and thus lose momentum they have right now.

People on both sides are corrupt. I do not agree with this and think those involved should get fined or jail time but I doubt that changes much. Most of the people switching are not being conned into it.

    Really? What is their opinion?

No, they are not. The only way they could shift would be from "R" to "D", but I think they will stay put.

It does not seem to be on anyone's platform. The platform is so crowded with culture war agenda, that there is no room for anything else.

I do not believe that Biden beat Sanders because Democratic voters rejected progressivism. All the energy in the Democratic Primaries was clearly with the Progressive Bernie Sanders. The problem that they had was that Bernie had previously called himself a Democratic Socialist, and the smart money says that someone calling themself a Socialist simply could not win a general election.

This left them with their passion which was Bernie and his progressivism, versus their pragmatic side that hated Trump with every fiber of their being and they simply held their nose while colluding to nominate Biden because he was their best shot at getting rid of their hated enemy Trump. Biden also promised them most of what they were asking for.

While I agree with your sentiment about them swinging wildly to the left, but I disagree that their primary voters rejected progressivism. The only thing they rejected was a surefire loss with a candidate that calls himself a Socialist in any form. Biden IS playing to his base which is the progressives. It is clearly who they are, at least it is who the primary voters are. Typically a candidate wins the nomination because they found a base of energized people that rallied around their candidacy. Biden energized literally no one. He is undoubtedly the first candidate without an energized group of supporters.

I congratulate Bernie for calling a spade a spade. He is a progressive. He is a socialist. Progressives are socialists and even democratic voters reject socialism, including Virginia and even in highly liberal San Francisco recently where liberals kicked out progressive/socialists from the school board.

Bernie is honest about who he is. A progressive cannot be honest about why they are and still get elected. Biden on the other hand, may not be a progressive at his core, but he sold his soul to appease those progressives who elected him out of pragmatism, that is why he has tried his best to push progressive policies. He is only fulfilling his campaign promises. His actions while in office were wholly predictable.

That's true if you mean the COVID response, however that won't be much of a factor in November.

No I mean the "we know what's best for your child" CRT and the sexual indoctrination/grooming nonsense.

Oh, well I just included that all under "Out of control Wokism."

That, in all it's forms, is driving away their base.

I think the one thing that both voting bases have in common is an inherent drive to protect their children. and the woke progressive nonsense is trying to sell us on the promise that they know how to raise our children better then we can. And both bases are not fans of that rhetoric.

Part of the reason they can't recognize how damaging they are to their own party is that so many of the party influencers are childless, so thinking in terms of "family" is alien to them. However there are Democrats who have actual families and have the same drive to protect their children from insanity. So I'm content to watch them burn it all down.

all republicans states that are close to losing their lead

many voters also register as the opposite party during a year when their president will run again, that way they can vote in their primaries, now they are switching back for midterms

I’m not a Trump supporter and I would even argue that you may be wrong on this point.

1- I don’t believe that the election was fair to begin with. Arizonas audit proves that
2- were seeing the democrat ideology in full display. High energy, high inflation, moronic comments, closest to WWIII than we have ever been, pushing for higher tax, a VP that’s as intelligent as a first grader (if she’s lucky, “Ukraine is a small country in Europe, by a larger country named Russia” facepalm), we have a president that says he gets in trouble by someone (he’s not in charge), so yeah I would say Trump has a very good chance. Which truly sucks but I also think Trump is a better pick than these two turds. However, you won’t catch me voting for either of them. Trump can go straight to hell for his attack on my rights.

Hey, comatose patients deserve to vote too!

Heck, I bet even Biden, if he were in a nursing home, could be convinced to vote for the first Party that got to him first.
