Republicans sue Mike Pence in 'desperate' last-ditch effort to overturn election

    Several Republicans, including Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), have resorted to suing Vice President Mike Pence as part of a "desperate" last-ditch effort to overturn the results of November's presidential election, The Hill reports. The goal of the lawsuit is to get a federal judge to rule that Pence has the exclusive authority to choose electors when he oversees the Electoral College vote certification on Jan. 6.

    The chances of this lawsuit being successful appear to be negligible. University of California, Irvine, law professor Rick Hasen said flatly "this won't work," while Georgia State University law professor Anthony Michael Kreis called it "insane."

    I really think all I can say on this is ...... WTF? I saw Louis Gohmert and a smile hit my face with the guaranteed idiocy to follow.....

    Should I start with lack of standing? Or not enough time to even make a decision, should one be desired before Jan 6th (by my count, that's 5 business days left)? Or that this is moronic beyond belief? Take your pick

    If there has ever been a bigger waste of time in our Federal Courts (and I recall the great Texas case from a few weeks ago), I'm all ears....

    Republicans have gone off the deep end. Just when you don't think they can sink any lower. What's the point of having an election if the Vice President can unilaterally choose the electors? I'm not sure why republicans love disenfranchising people. It's become a hobby to them.

    That's the current argument..

    1. We have the state house
    2. The state house is responsible for that states electoral votes (is which they all delegated to a general election concept)
    3. Pick our slate instead of what the voters picked...
    4. If voters knew that their vote for state house would EQUAL their vote for President, people might vote differently, dontcha know...

    Funny, that... I'd think they'd thank you more for clarifying how Biden won by analyzing the evidence that has been given to the courts rather than just ignoring it based on technicalities. His supporters have put up with 4+ years of BS from the Left and this country is at the edge of an abyss. Actually allowing the evidence to be seen and heard isn't much to ask if it stops a shooting war. But what do I know... carry on, citizen.

    What they're doing is legal unlike the things many democrats are doing and have done.

    Also, some people will fight for what they believe, others just roll over and accept whatever their told and don't question it. Which one are you?

    uh, how is asking the court to make an unconstitutional ruling legal? The courts have no ability or authority to "rule mike pence has the authority to choose electors instead of the states". The constitution is crystal clear on that.

    What illegal things have democrats done? I'm not sure how plotting with state legislatures to overturn the will of the people is legal.

    The judge will throw it out, it's settled law, i.e., the Electoral Count Act of 1887
