seems odd that so many post on the same theme and it seems a lot can be traced back to sites like 4chan

    https://www.rollingstone.com/cultur...ting-fake-news-antifa-charlottesville-867499/

Hhmmmm I think I have read that a time or two on here but the article continues

Buzzfeed also speaks of how the more radical right have tried to use misinformation and sock puppet accounts to repaint the shooters as “democrats”

If it weren't for disinformation the extreme right not have any information at all.

Then again there is not any difference between "no nothings" and those gullible enough to believe extremist rightwing disinformation.

BOTH are epitomized by an ABSENCE of valid accurate information.

    Is this a joke?

There is no comparable level of reporting of the Dayton shooting. I've been watching ABC News 24 regularly as well as US sources and honestly you wouldn't know the basic story on the Dayton killer.

Soon after the attack, law enforcement confirmed that the gunman was Connor Stephen Betts, a 24-year-old from Bellbrook, Ohio. On Betts' Twitter account, he described himself as a leftist, anime fan, and metalhead. He had posted tweets that opposed Donald Trump and supported Elizabeth Warren, socialism, and Satan. Although many of his tweets were mundane and non-political, he had retweeted posts that supported the antifa movementand opposed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and police officers. In the hours before he opened fire in Dayton, he "liked" a post in favor of gun control, and several concerning the 2019 El Paso shooting, including a tweet that called the El Paso shooter a "terrorist" and a "white supremacist." An FBI investigation is still ongoing, but an official said that the perpetrator was associated with incel groups.

    ________________________________

For the last time this is not about right vs left, it's about the violent vs the non-violent.

Neither Trump nor Warren are responsible - the shooters are. Absolutely and without exception.

We are too distrustful of our common man when viritually all of us abhor the initiation of violence to pursue political ends.

Part of the problem is this growing division between us.

Do you feel like I'm some evil person because I don't agree with intersectional politics, like nuclear power, support legal access to abortion, like low taxes, etc?

You seem about as far left as I am right, but your posts show you just want what you see is right, some of the stuff we want is incompatible, but nothing we want is malicious or violent.

I think such people need to unite around opposition to all political violence without exception. But it's hard because social media has torn us apart into seperate echo chambers and we don't talk face to face. This creates distrust.

And while these vile shooters are 100% responsible, this distrust is what perpetuates these attrocities.

There is ZERO evidence that the Dayton shooter's actions had ANYTHING to do with antifa or political leanings at all.

There is no question that both the Gilroy and El Paso shooters (not to mention the Tree of Life and Christchurch and Dylan Roof shootings) WERE motivated by white supremacy

The Dayton shooter may have said things about the Boy Scouts of America on his online postings as well...does that mean the BSA are to blame for what he did?

    no

Any Australian of age 18 and 6 months older can (subject to state regulations) obtain a handgun on license.

    Why don't we have Columbines?

From what I heard, he doesn't support either Party, but he was mad and against the flood of Hispanics flowing into this country. The Democrats have been going full steam ahead trying to blame Trump for this mass shooting. If anyone is to blame besides the shooter himself, it has to be the Democrats. They have done everything in their power to block Trump from securing the border and even encouraging these people to come. So if you want to put the blame some place, I put the blame for the Texas and Ohio shootings on Democrats.

The leftist wing of the country own as much of the disinformation as the right.
The want common sense gun controls: Anything they decide can be banned.
They support the 2A: a flat lie to obscure their goal.
All NRA members are blood thirsty child killers: Planned parenthood kills thousands every year. 10s if thousands.
But that's a womans health issue, right? No, it's a woman avoiding the results of her actions 99% of the time.
    The Russians
    Kavanaugh
    And on and on.

This is why Trump is President, the left had become so unhinged it was going to take someone like him to stem the tide.
I despise him personally, but any Democrat was a far worse choice.

Rights are not based on need.

As long as the average cop or soldier can use one the average civilian should have the right to have one as well

    That is a lie.

The NRA is diverse and multi cultural and racial as well as a premier civil rights organization.

    We have enough regulations

The only law that I see that could have any effect at all and have a chance of passing, is limiting the size of the magazines
