Bribing Senators. This is one clueless lady/alphabet. I say prosecute her to the limit of the law.
"Former talkshow host and comedian Rosie O’Donnell proudly and openly attempted to bribe Republican Senators Tuesday night, which is of course a felony.

As the bill on tax reform was being debated in the Senate, O’Donnell offered “2 million to any GOP senator who votes no” on the bill. No Republicans took Rosie up on her offer as all 51 voted in favor of the bill."

Rosie would have been better off investing in weight watchers

Rosie could shed 40 lbs. of ugly fat instantly, if she'd lop off her head ...

Well, she didn't do anything donors who paid the GOP reps to vote on the passage didn't do.

    So big deal?

True enough. If she's that committed, maybe she could donate $4 million to persons or programs negatively impacted. I think she just shot her fat mouth off ... Neither senator could accept a blatant bribe. Rosie lost her property tax credit. Loser.

Well, that was stupid on Rosie’s part. Any smart political donor knows you have to make donations that large in secret.

Nobody minded during the campaign when Trump bragged about doing it.

I heard that Rosie in a protest of President Trump's election went on a hunger strike, reports say it was the worst 15 minutes of her life.

What's your point? It's okay to brag about bribing officials as long as they donate to Dems? That makes no sense.

I also said "Two words here bribe and donor, learn the difference it may keep you out of jail.". What the President did was legal what Rosie did was a felony, that's my point.

Donations to political parties are perfectly permissible. A bribe, which is a cash payout to perform a specific action, is not.

How many more times do you need to hear this?

Sure. Nobody really thinks a donation for favors is a bribe, right? lulz. So if Rosie had said, "I'll DONATE money if you vote my way," you'd be okay with that? Sure.

For sure - you have to pretend that said "donations" are not for "favors" down the road ....

Real world - they are bribes.

She used the word "give." When I "give" to charity, it's not a bribe. When I give a present, it's not a bribe. Giving is gifting. A donation, you might say.

While I disagree with Rosie's attempt here, well-intentioned though it was, it was stupid on a practical level. You don't offer less than the person(s) will make committing the crime...

You are free to come to this conclusion. Many people do.
But the fact remains that bribes are paid to gain specific advantages through specific actions whereas donations certainly gain donors a favorable view in the eyes of politicians but prompt no specific actions when given.

It's a subtle distinction but a distinction to be sure.

No when it is made to a public official in order to affect behavior, it is termed a bribe and is a felony. They aren't likely to prosecute her but she will likely get a visit from the FBI.
